Being a board-certified pediatric dentist is immensely rewarding: I have the opportunity to deliver needed dental treatment in a caring and compassionate manner and help children to feel safe in the dental environment. I am excited when my patients have optimal dental health, and are educated and excited to keep their smile clean and bright!
I have practiced dentistry for quite a number of yearsnow. I chose the profession because I saw what a tremendous impact a wonderful dentist could have on a young persons life. I experienced thisfirst-handas a college student: I had the best dentist ever! From that experience, I realized I wanted to have the same impact on younger generations.
I attended Georgetown University School of Dentistry, where I received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. I attended the University of Illinois College of Dentistrytoobtainmy pediatric dentistry certificate.
Dental school provided me with a fundamental understanding of oral health; my pediatric dentistry residency taught me about specifics related to childrens dental care. In addition to clinical knowledge, I also learned about child psychology and how to build trust with anxious children. I received advanced training in providing dentistry for children with complex physical, emotional, and mental health challenges, too.
Since completing the residency, I have actively soughtout continuing educational opportunities locally, regionally, and nationally. A lifelong learner, I stay current on all advances in pediatric dentistry, in order to provide patients with the highestquality, proven treatment.
Outside of the office, I treasure time with loved ones, activities with and through my church, practicing yoga, and learning to play golf. I am also involved with the Chicago Food Depository and the Salvation Army, organizations that feedthe homeless and those suffering with food insecurity.
I am so passionate about working closely with people in my community. It excites me to have the ability to change our patients smiles and see their confidence soar after they see their new smile. My goal each and every day is to give our patients the best care from the time they enter the practice until the time they leave. I want them to experience personalized care from our office care that will leave them smiling!
Continuing education is a vital part of any practitioners career, especially that of an orthodontist. Continuing education helps me stay current with new technology and evidence-based practice. Since finishing my formal education, I have completed the Charles H. Tweed course and regularly attend the Illinois Society of Orthodontics meetings. Im also currently enrolled in the two-year McLaughlin program.
After living in Milwaukeefor ten years while completing my schooling, I moved back to my hometown of Chicago to join my father at his orthodontic practice. My family currently consists of my Goldendoodle Sophie and me.
Of course, I love working side by side with my dad and having the support of my mom and brother along the way. My hobbies include camping, hiking, watching movies, cooking, and finding the newest restaurants in town.
