Dr. Jim Michaud grew up in Arizona and has been practicing in the valley for over 30 years. He graduated from dental school at the University of Washington and did his pediatric residency at Baylor College of Dentistry. For years he served as the consultant pediatric dentist for the Barrows Craniofacial Center, the only craniofacial program in Arizona for children with special needs. He has been voted by his peers as a top pediatric dentist in many of Phoenix Magazines Top Dentists issues. In 2018 he became their all-time most honored pediatric dentist. Dr. Jim has sponsored PBS programs and is sometimes called the Barney doctor by the younger patients.
Dr. Jim and his wife have six children, five of whom have chosen to follow in his footsteps in the dental field. Over the last 40 years he has volunteered time to serve in the Boy Scouts of America and is the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award. His hobbies include being a dad, and now grandfather. He also enjoys scuba diving, fishing, kayaking, and cookies-n-cream ice cream (I am sure he brushes after every bowl).
Dr. Richard Michaud grew up in Mesa, where he attended Mountain View High School before graduating Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University. He attended dental school at University of the Pacific in San Francisco, CA where he graduated with honors. He continued his education with two years of Pediatric training at Temple University Hospital, in Philadelphia, PA. While there he was Chief Resident and was able to treat many different patients in varied settings. He believes that there is a way to help every child receive the care they need in a way that prepares them for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
Dr. Richard is active in church, community, and family life. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Western Society of Pediatric Dentistry as well as the Arizona Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and is board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He earned the Richard C. Pugh Achievement Award, given only to those pediatric dentists who score in the top 3% in the nation on the Board Qualifying Exam!
He and his wife Shari have three energetic boys and 2 young girls who love to play. Dr. Richard loves a good root beer soda on occasion and as a family they like to go on road trips and to spend time outdoors, camping and fishing. After studying from coast to coast, Dr. Richard is excited to return home to the Valley of the Sun!
Dr. Braden Michaud grew up in a big family here in Arizona. He started working part time after school at ABC Dentistry for Children when he was just 14 years old and has since come back to work again as a pediatric dentist. He attended ASU where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in biology. After college, he traveled to California for University of the Pacifics dental school where he graduated at the top of his class, recognized as the top clinician. While in dental school, he married his sweetheart Holly and three months later they moved to Philadelphia for his residency in pediatric dentistry.
He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Western Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Arizona Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and is Board Certified by the America Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Braden loves being back in the valley with his wife and three children. He is active in church, community, and family life. He always seems to have a big smile and a hearty laugh. He enjoys small projects, from fixing small engines to restoring an antique piano. For fun he likes traveling, fishing, scuba diving, hunting, playing with his children, and date nights with his sweetheart.
Dr. Happy Grewal, DDS, BDS attended dental school at Case Western Reserve University Dental in Cleveland, Ohio. She continued her education and completed her two year specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at Rainbow Babies and Children Hospital, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. She has been a practicing pediatric dentist for over 14 years.
Dr. Grewal is board certified by American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is a member of American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Arizona Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and Western Society of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also a board designee as an Oral Sedation Examiner for Arizona Dental Board. Dr. Grewal was voted by her peers as a top pediatric dentist in 2017 in Phoenix Magazine. She loves working with children of all ages, including special needs.
Arizona has been home to her for the past thirteen years. She and her husband, Hardeep, have been blessed with two children. When she is not working, she absolutely loves being a mom. As a family, they spend their time hiking, traveling, playing racquetball and just being outdoors!

We have been going there for almost 2 years. They are so awesome from the reception to the back team. They always make my daughter feel comfortable even when she is nerves. The Dentist and dental staff are always friendly.

Our family has been going for years! My one daughter who is 4 now has been going since she was 2! My oldest daughter is 9 who has been going since she was 4! They absolutely love it! They always leave with smiles on their faces and fully trust the staff. They wish they could go more often. Great communication and overall love of the place. They work with you and are there for you! We would never go anywhere else!

Dr. Snell is the best! He has taken out the wisdom teeth for 4 of our kids and has done an excellent job each time. If you're looking for a great dentist and a dental office with the nicest staff, I highly recommend ABC Dentistry for Children and Dr. Heath Snell.

Dr Happy is the Best Dentist around. She is very knowledgeable and really takes time to listen to parents and make you feel important. My child has speech and other developmental delays and she is so kind, gentle, and understanding. It makes me so sad to see any reviews that say others wise because it truly is so far from the truth! We have moved very far from this office and still drive to see her every 6 months for check ups! Being a mother is so hard but one thing I have learned is that every child is different and Trauma or cavities on one might be fixed with diet or flossing and others are so far gone that they need something else. I urge parents to LISTEN to the Dr and not to Facebook moms.

My daughter was very nervous about her first cavity filling and ABC Dentistry for Children was great at keeping her calm and relaxed. They thoroughly explained each step to my daughter so she knew what to expect and there were no surprises. I expected a difficult visit with tears and crying and was grateful for the complete opposite.

I feel I have been taken advantage of and disregarded entirely at this office. Not only did I not ever have one visit with the doctor I requested the first two or three times I brought my son (requested Dr. Braden specifically for his reputation of fixing trauma in baby teeth), but I was charged a ridiculous amount on my last visit for just xrays. Not even a full panoramic X-ray. Just an X-ray of the top and bottom front row. I was told, "Since the dentist sat in a chair and talked to you, that's an exam," by the front desk person who checked me out. A dental exam, by definition or even by common sense standards, is an inspection of a patient's entire mouth. Dr. Happy (who, no, was not sitting in a chair) literally touched ONE tooth in my son's mouth to see if it was wiggly. She did not even have him sit down and "open wide" to even set eyes on any other teeth. My son was standing next to me. He was in good spirits and would gladly have obliged an actual exam. What she did is NOT a dental exam. She did not inspect any other teeth but the one we were talking about at that current moment. Dr. Happy also gave poor advice when it came to saving my son's teeth when we came in the first time. I was told by other patients who referred me that Dr. Braden would give us a special diet and special instructions to save my son's front teeth that were knocked loose; Dr. Happy gave us no such information. And my son ended up having an abscess and has to have one of those teeth pulled now because I did what she told us to do, which was wait. Which is doing nothing proactive or helpful. This practice is dishonest and disgusting, taking advantage of mothers with special needs children. My son is autistic. It's hard enough to plan to go to the dentist, to prep him mentally and emotionally and with sensory input beforehand, and to manage his emotions while we're in the office. The last thing I need is a dental office who will steal whatever money they can get from me by claiming they "examined" my child. Highly disappointed, offended, shocked, and dismayed. Will be seeking retribution.

When we moved to AZ we had left a dentist office that was so very mindful of the neurodiversity of our child which had made going to the dentist challenging, so we were apprehensive when we began searching for a new dentist. ABC Dentistry was fabulous from the very beginning. All of the staff listened fully to our concerns, as well as what had and had not worked in the past. They provided supports that fit so well to our child's needs. Three years later the dentist continues to be an anticipated appointment with no stress or worries. Thank you all for your care, compassion, and professionalism.

We love ABC Dentisry for Children! We've been going there for years with all SIX of my kids. Every one of them feels so comfortable going. The office is a fun atmosphere and the staff is the best! We travel ALL THE WAY FROM UTAH to go to their office... they are THAT AWESOME! They are so accommodating and helpful when we need to schedule appointments. We all love Dr. Jim and how fun he is. They are great about treatment plans and explaining what needs to be done. They make sure it is a comfortable, safe and happy experience for the kids. Definitely recommend them for your pediatric dentistry!

My son has gone to this dentist twice so far and both times have been absolutely wonderful. The staff and the dentist have been very helpful and very welcoming to me and my son. Definitely recommend ABC dentistry for children!

We love ABC Dentistry. Do to insurance coverage we had to go to a ppo dentist. As soon as our insurance changed back we called and got back in here. The staff was super helpful and was able to un- archive my child's file. Smooth sailing the whole time. The staff is super great with the kids and makes the parents feel involved in every step of care. Would recommend every time.

My kids (actually teenagers 14 & 17!) really enjoy the care that they receive at ABC Dentistry! Dr Machaud and the other dentists and hygiene staff make them laugh, feel welcomed and truly care about their patients, no matter how old they are. With my son being almost 17 & standing 6 ft tall, he is never belittled for his age or height or treated any differently for still seeing a children's dentist. And hey.....I would personally go there too if they'd take me! ABC Dentistry is honestly the BEST place for kids dental needs. If they ever open another site to include adults, I will be the 1st person in line!

They are absolutely wonderful here!! My kids actually get excited when they hear that we are going to the dentist. We tried another pediatric dentist a few years back because it was closer to home and it didn't even compare. Worth a little extra drive!!

We've been with ABC Dentistry for Children for over 5 years now and have been happy with our experience there. All the staff, from the front desk to the hygienist to the dentists, are so friendly and welcoming. They are so good with children and make the experience fun and fear-free for them. After having her teeth cleaned and fluoride brushed on, my daughter was not loving the taste. The hygienist gave her a drink with her water sprayer tool and sprayed it in her mouth from quite a distant. The kids loved it and all 3 got a turn. My 5 year old couldn't wait to go to the dentist and had it written in his calendar for over month looking forward to it. They love the fish tank, tablets, and movie in the waiting room and love the drawing boards they get to draw on while in the chair. And of course they love the goodie bags at the end. I grew up terrified of the dentist so any dentist that my kids actually WANT to go to is a win in my book! Thank you ABC Dentistry!

I had heard about this place from a friend. We went for cleanings and the staff were wonderful! They are very kid-friendly and put my four kids at ease. This morning we had a small dental emergency. I called at 7 a.m. and she told me to come on down. They got us in right away and fixed the problem. My kids are excited to go to the dentist because they have iPads, a wonderful fish tank and even have toys in the back to make the kids comfortable during their cleanings. I would refer them to anyone! We love Dr. Happy!
