Dr. Singers philosophy is that Pediatric dentists can have a profound effect on the lives of young children. These health professionals have one of the most important dental jobs molding a future patient. A child may feel hesitant and afraid when thinking about their first visit to the dentist. As the first dentist a child encounters, pediatric practitioners can either ease their fears or enhance them. Dr. Singer takes this first encounter as well as the visits that follow with the utmost care and attention. He understands that they will set the tone for a lifetime of dental health.

Dr. Singer was born in the small town of McKeesport, PA outside of Pittsburgh. Growing up in a city that had recently lost their steel industry, Dr. Singer saw a need for all people to have access to quality health care. Prior to dentistry, Dr. Singer had spent his time working in his families grocery store business beginning at the age of 15, doing everything from collecting carts to stocking shelves.

Dr. Singers interest in pediatric dentistry began almost ten years ago, during a volunteer experience at Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh Dental Clinic. In fact, it was this experience that changed his interest to pursue dentistry from a question to a calling. He also learned that he truly enjoyed interacting with children in a clinical setting. He feels that children are more honest about their feelings and more appreciative for the time you have given them. He enjoyed the challenge of turning a childs view of a trip to the dentist from a chore to an adventure.

After volunteering for almost 2 years at Childrens Hospital, he continued to explore pediatric dentistry through leadership positions. He joined the student chapter of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, to which he was elected secretary. As an officer and member of the group, he participated in many community-based activities to raise awareness for oral hygiene and the value of a beautiful smile.

In addition, outside of his experience with student groups, he was given a unique opportunity to participate in a program called Early Head Start. As a contributor to this program, he would visit the homes of children in underserved communities to encourage proper oral hygiene and provide dental screenings. Over the course of his education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, he participated in many programs that promoted good oral hygiene to young children. These were just a few experiences that have had the strongest effect on him.

Dr. Singer graduated cum laude in Neuroscience and Business from the University of Pittsburgh in May of 2000. He earned his degree in dentistry from the University of Pittsburgh in 2004. He continued his education through a specialized residency in Pediatric Dentistry at St. Christophers Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA. In his second year at St. Christophers Hospital, he was chosen to be Chief Resident. Following his residency, Dr. Singer joined a group practice in Southern New Jersey as an Associate.

Dr. Singer is highly skilled at performing sleeping dentistry (general anesthesia) on children and special needs patients requiring a safe hospital setting with an anesthesiologist. Over the past two years, Dr. Singer has performed over 150 oral rehabilitation cases under general anesthesia. ABC Childrens Dentistry will allow Dr. Singer to achieve his long-term goals of making a difference in the lives of many young patients.

It has been a long and rewarding journey for Dr. Singer from the start of his training until today. He recently married his college sweetheart and his hobbies include exercising, movies, travel and amateur film making.

I know this is a highly recommended pediatric dental office, and while they may be great with kids who are "normal" I can tell you I had two not great experiences in a row last year with my then 4 year old son who is mild ADHD. The dentist became flustered both times, as well as the hygienist staff, because of how hard it was for my son to sit still during the visit. It's VERY loud in the rooms and I had to ask for the TVs to be lowered both visits. My son is screaming, they weren't patient at all and I felt like a burden because of my son being upset and unable to sit still (again he's 4 with ADHD). The icing on the cake was me not being allowed back for a routine filling for him. While that may be the "normal" practice at this office, that's fine, but I can tell you there are other pediatric offices in the area who 1) will let you come back with your child if you would like for routine fillings and 2) are WAY more patient, empathetic, and caring with kids who perhaps aren't neuro normal and can't sit still or upset easily from ADHD or another disorder. Again, may be fine for you if your kid is neuro normal. Speaking as a mom who has a kid who isn't. There are way better options in the area.

DISGRACEFUL! First ever Google review. Upon our arrival for my son's appointment and paying for our visit, the receptionist advised they had facemasks to purchase. I informed her that we were exempt and facemasks are unhealthy. In spite of this, I agreed to play their game for a moment until my son could be seen for his appointment, but would not put the facemask on my son due to his health. I even offered to call our doctor if they needed confirmation. Then came a lady from the back claiming to be the owner and THOUGHT she could berate me, making a scene in the waiting room foolishly quoting the CDC. I stood my ground and demanded my card be refunded. They responded they would later and email me a receipt. I demanded my refund immediately and after waiting almost 30 MINUTES, I decided I would do a chargeback and walked out. The lady then rushed out with my refund receipt, to remind me she owned the building, there were cameras, she would call the police and called me trash. If this isn't the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know what is. She upset my son who was already nervous for his appointment. This woman is a disgusting human being!

Aside from the fact that this office looks AMAZING and is fun for kids, the staff here is amazing. We've been coming to this practice for about 8 years and absolutely love it. There's always a Disney movie playing for entertainment which goes along with the theme of the entire office. If you have 3 children (like I do), you can schedule them together and have them all in their large room together so, you aren't splitting between different rooms to check up on each individually. My 10-year-old has always been particularly sensitive to ANYTHING medical-related but they are always very patient with him and understanding.

Really good dentist for your kids. Place is extremely organized we had no wait for my kids first dentist visit. The entire office right from reception to the attending room everything was kids decor and was well done. The first dentist visit was made absolutely easy and memorable. Everybody was very friendly, polite and did a great job! Will recommend this to anyone for their kids!!

I have been taking my children to this dental office for 11 years with no issues. I like the office staff and how well they care for my kids. But when they chose not to accept my insurance anymore, I didn't even get a phone call or letter. I was very disappointed in how they treated me. I only found out they were no no longer accepting my insurance when I called to change an upcoming appointment. Like a notice would have been great. Now I'm left stranded try to find a new dentist for all four children. Very disappointed. Dr. Singer thanks for your reply. I have nothing against you or your staff. I was just disappointed I didn't get any notice from your office . Most healthcare providers will provide a notice to all affected parties ahead of time to inform them of the changes. A letter or a phone call would have been great so I have a better idea of how to plan my next visits for my kids. Thank you for all you do.

This dentist is the COOLEST. My kids loved thier first visit and for their cleaning next week my stepson is switching too because of how awesome my kids told him it was! They have tvs on the ceilings for the kids, the toothpastes come in insane flavors (like chocolate, cookie dough, etc) and its so fun with all the Disney stuff. I wish I could go here!

Great children's playground while in a dental office. Tv's on the ceiling playing cartoons to deflect any anxiety my child has being reclined in dentist chair getting his chompers cleaned and examined. Dr Singer is the man! His staff is awesome to my child as well.
