Dr. Abbott was raised in Chico and attended local elementary, junior, and senior high schools. He received his undergraduate education at Butte Jr. College and California State University-Chico. In 1982 he obtained his doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of California- San Francisco. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Northern California Dental Association.
Dr. Abbott practices all aspects of General Dentistry for children and adults, including restorative, cosmetic, root canal therapy, emergency dentistry, surgical, implants, and dental sleep medicine for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.
Away from the office, Dr. Abbott enjoys many outdoor activities including spending time in the mountains, fishing, and is an avid woodworker. He is active in many charitable causes including Veterans Stand Downs, Missions of Mercy, CDA cares, Chico Scholarship programs, and others. He was bestowed the University of California- San Francisco Alumni Medal of Honor for his many charitable contributions to both community and the University.

I called this place after being recommended to them and asked if they were in network, they said yes. I then go into my exam appointment and do very minimal work just a cleaning and an exam which my insurance covers at 100% with no deductible. A while later I receive a bill for $103, hm must be a mistake. I go in for my treatment and ask them where the bill came from and they weren't even aware they were out of network. Then I call my insurance and they had billed me at their own fee schedule and billed my insurance for the full covered amount. There was never any notice on this at all. Be very wary of these people they're either incompetent or really just have no clue what they're doing. Now I need to start all over finding a dentist and I need to pay for my exam and x-rays out of pocket because they billed them to my insurance already. 10/10 do not recommend.

Dr. Abbott is the absolute best! He had been the dentist for my mom and I for years (until I had to temporarily switch insurance companies) but I can't wait to go back! He always did such an amazing job diligently cleaning while also being gentle and always provided the best care. He even told me what he looks for when examining for cavities which I thought was really cool! I always felt that he had my best interest at heart at all times and I really miss the atmosphere of his entire office. This is the place to go when you want to feel like you are being taken care of by your own family members.

Great service. I'm usually a little hesitant to go to the dentist's office, but Dr. Abbott was extremely professional and comforting. His staff was welcoming and friendly as well.
