Dr. Monica Blancas was raised in Erath, Louisiana. She graduated in 1992 from Erath high school. Attended LSU Baton Rouge and majored in microbiology. From there, relocated to New Orleans where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2000. She completed a year residency in Advance education in general dentistry (AEGD) in Jackson Mississippi. Dr. Blancas is member of the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Leslie has a passion for dentistry and helping patients of the Vermilion parish community. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from LSU in 2006, then obtained her DDS degree from the LSU School of Dentistry in 2011. Born and raised in Winnsboro, LA, Dr. Leslie met her husband Paul while they were both attending LSU. Leslie and Paul love living in Abbeville and raising their three boys: Charlie, Chandler and Chip. Leslie is a member of the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, and the Acadiana District Dental Association.
Dr. Hiep Nguyen received his undergraduate degree in biology from USL and his dental degree from the LSU School of Dentistry in 2000. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Denistry, the Acadiana Dental District Association, the Acadiana Dental Study Club, and the Acadiana Southern Society Study Club.
Brittanie is a licensed dental assistant, and received her expanded duty dental assistant from LSU. She has been with AFD since 2016. She is very passionate about dentistry and helping patients. Aside from work family, she enjoys spending time with her own family-husband Josh and their 3 children. In Brittanie's spare time she enjoys CrossFit and going to church with her family.
Emmy was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She is a licensed dental assistant since 2010 and certified expanded duty dental assistant. Emmy enjoys taking care of her patients and meeting their expectations. When not at work Emmy takes pride in raising her son Nicolas. Emmy's priorities include praising God, family, and being a part of the AFD family!
Jill Thompson received her Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2005. She and her husband Kody currently live in Maurice with their two children, Cooper and Jack.
Jordan is a 2012 graduate of LSU/UL where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene. Jordan has been with AFD since 2013. She is married to her high school sweetheart Matt and they have 2 sweet boys. Jordan's favorite things are God, family, being outdoors, CrossFit, and enjoying the life God has given her and doing His work.
Marsha is our scheduling coordinator and treatment plan consultant. Marsha began her dental career in 2005 and has been with this office since 2008. She lives on a farm in Erath, LA with her husband Jacob and their three children: Logan, Landon, and Caroline. She received her Expanded Duty Dental Assistant Certification from LSU. Marsha loves greeting patients as they walk through the door!
Paula is a licensed dental assistant accredited by the LA State Board of Dentistry and is also Expanded Duty Certified. Her passion for dentistry and her patients have helped her accumulate over 25 years of dental experience. Paula is married to Toby and they have 2 daughters. Outside the office Paula enjoys baking, traveling, and spending quality time with her 3 grandchildren.
Phyllis is our insurance coordinator and helps with front office tasks and scheduling. With over 40+ years of dental experience, Phyllis is a wonderful asset to AFD and our patients. She is married to Ricky Broussard and has 2 sons Chuck and Spencer, as well as 5 grandchildren. Phyllis enjoys working in her yard, fishing, and reading.
Victoria is a 2017 graduate of LSU where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She has been a dental hygienist at Abbeville Family Dental since 2017. Victoria was born and raised in Lafayette, LA.
