AAOSH provides support to health professionals and the public by providing a higher quality and standard for health care service and public awareness of the health connections linking the mouth with the body. AAOSH is passionate in its vision to educate medical and dental professionals about the mouth-body connections and to help bridge the gaps within the medical disciplines and professions using current and emerging science and modern information technology which will support the rapid and accurate exchange of available knowledge.

Emerging science confirms that chronic low-grade infections in the mouth elevates systemic inflammation and has an impact on all body systems. The mouth is further linked with the rest of the body when considering the impact of oral airway and sleep apnea, TMD and headaches, dental caries infections, and oral cancer. The significance of these numerous mouth-body and oral-systemic connections highlight the importance of preventing and treating oral disease which has mounting and profound medical impacts on whole body health.

Oral Health must therefore have a new definition and be supported by an organization inclusive of all medical professionals and practitioners that are committed to working and learning together in a spirit of collaborative cooperation. Patients everywhere will enjoy the resulting benefits of improved oral and general health, healing, longevity and wellness.

The concept for AAOSH has long been in the minds of many health care providers who realize that the health of the mouth and the body are integrally linked with each other. Research has bridged the information gap and the mouth-body connection now needs a strong voice to get the world to rally around this message!

The organizations first president Dr. Chris Kammer has sounded the bell to announce that Now is the time for us to create this organization. In 1984 Chris father Dr. Jack Kammer was the founding father of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, which is today the world's largest organization for cosmetic dental professionals with over 7000 practitioners, educators, researchers and laboratory technicians from 70 countries. Clearly, cosmetic dentistry was a powerful wave to sweep through the profession of dentistry. Oral-systemic health is the next big wave and it is beginning to build - and sweep, not only through all of dentistry, but is beginning to include the medical and allied health community with its impact!

My continuous dental education and clinical experiences have prepared me to help pioneer complete health and wellness, for all my patients, as well as utilize advanced techniques in modern dentistry. We here at Complete Health Dentistry, strive to treat our patients complete health. Proper oral health care has the ability to treat and/or prevent whole body diseases. Whether we are preventing cardiovascular disease or dementia, or we are treating an aspect of diabetes or decreasing the risk of a major heart attack or stroke, we treat everyone based on their individual health.

I especially enjoy getting to work with children and their families, setting them up for a lifetime of excellent oral health and overall wellness. A quality dental practice should not be a fearful place, but a place where whole families feel at home. This is possible when patients are treated like family when they walk in and know that they are receiving the best possible care. I am a perfectionist by nature and pride myself with the ideal, artistic, craftsmanship in everything that I do.

When I am not enjoying dentistry and spending time with my patients, I am an avid family man and always an outdoorsman. Kristen and I have three daughters, Maddy, Grace, and Brooklyn, and two sons, Kyle and Reese. We live in the Grand Rapids, MI area.

I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, and playing golf with my family. Being raised within a very close-knit family, I have always imagined the perfect dental practice as an extension of my family. To me, my team members and patients are my brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Everyone deserves honesty and everyone deserves the highest quality modern medical care available, and that is what I strive to provide everyone who is a part of our dental family.
