Dr. Suelene Chen graduated from Loma Linda University in 1995. She spent many years in community outreach treating children from low income families and later completed her formal education in pediatric dentistry in 2005. An advocate for children's health, she devotes her time outside of her practice to the underserved in rural areas in California and coaching soccer in hometown Huntington Beach with AYSO. A native of Huntington Beach, Edison High School (Class of 1988), Dr. Suelene enjoys snow skiing, playing soccer, and traveling when she is not in practice. Dr. Tom Chen, her father, is a general dentist. Her mom, Mrs. Intera Chen taught 6th grade for over 30 years for Sowers Middle School.
Dr. Robin Arita grew up in our neighboring cities in North. Like all Northern Californians longing for our fantastic Socal weather, Dr. Arita attended UCLA as an undergraduate and returned to complete her dental school training at the University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry in 2005. She was a dedicated professional working for a number of years with our military at the Veterans Hospital, Palo Alto. Passionate about children, Dr. Arita returned to her specialty training in pediatrics, graduating from the USC Ostrow School of Dentistry. She is an American Pediatric Dental Board Certified Specialist. Dr. Arita has been practicing in community outreach, clinics and private practice in both Orange County and in the Bay area for a number of years before settling here in Huntington Beach! Her husband, Dr. Braga, is also a dental specialist practicing in Huntington Beach and together with their son, they enjoy traveling and spending time at the beach. Look for them on the weekends at the HB pier or downtown on Main Street!
Dr. Susan Do grew up just to our North in the infamous technology hub, the Silicon Valley. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbial Biology from UC Berkeley and went on to obtain her D.D.S. degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, where she graduated with high honors and was elected to join the Tau Kappa Omega Dental Honor Society. She then moved to the East Coast to complete her Pediatric specialty training at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine where she served as the Chief Resident. As a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Do believes in early intervention and strives to create an atmosphere that is both fun and nurturing for her patients. She aims to create positive lifelong experiences and hopes her love for dentistry is equally infectious with her patients. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Do enjoys a very active lifestyle that includes traveling, cooking, fitness, golf, and martial arts. She is a devoted sports fan, particularly when it comes to the SF Giants, Golden State Warriors, and Green Bay Packers. An avid dog lover, expect to see Dr. Do and her husband walking their two pups along the coast.

We chose this dentistry because our son goes to My First Montessori which is located in the same complex. On our last visit, the doctor discovered TWO cavities & highly urged us to address those right away. Our son, like most kids, is not particularly fond of going to the dentist. She recommended putting our son under with anesthesia because it's hard for him to lay still. The anesthesia recommendation concerned both my wife & I given the fact our son is only five years old. We reluctantly put a $250 deposit down for the 'operation.' As we neared the scheduled date for filling the cavities, the dentistry informed us that the cost would be nearly $2,000 out-of-pocket with the majority of the cost falling under the anesthesiologist. We simply could not justify paying $1,000 per cavity & ended up calling to cancel the appointment. The dentist then informed us that the deposit was non-refundable & also that my son actually had EIGHT cavities! We can confidently say now that this was a ploy to justify the high cost. We ended up choosing another local children's dentistry. Our son, who constantly cried at A Tooth Doctor for Kids, did not shed one tear at the new dentist. The nurse & doctor at the new dentistry were both patient & engaged our son extremely well. After the doctor reviewed the X-Rays, she informed us our son had TWO cavities & intend on utilizing laughing gas along with a numbing agent to facilitate the drilling & filling of the cavities. Out-of-pocket cost for this is a FRACTION of what A Tooth Doctor for Kids quoted us since an anesthesiologist was not needed. I also must note that the new dentist said she wouldn't recommend full anesthesia for children my son's age unless crowns or complex dental work is needed. A few days after cancelling our appointment, we received a letter from A Tooth Doctor for Kids which basically said they were terminating their relationship with us. VERY CLASSY! I will say this: $250 is a small price to pay to find an honest dentist that is not just interested in lining their pockets. We are well known at our son's school & we definitely will share our experience we had with A Tooth Doctor for Kids to all the parents we know.

This office, the doctors Dr. Suelene Chen and Dr. Tom Chen and the whole staff, have been a Godsend for our family for the past 7 years. From day one, they have treated us like family and provided treatment and customer service that has exceeded our every expectation. We have five children and several have very complicated dental issues and they have made each procedure as painless and relaxed as possible. The dentistry has been excellent, but what really sets a Tooth Dr For Kids apart is that they are such a rare find in today's world, an actual family practice with professionals who treat you like family, just like the family practices of yester-year. I'll never forget Dr. Chen Senior coming out with newspaper clippings of our daughter when she had an article write up for her soccer successes. And like father, like daughter both showing such support and encouragement for each of our children as they navigate those challenging teen years. They are a rare find and I highly recommend you make an appointment, or better said, join their family. Your dental needs will be taken care of by true professionals who truly care and you will have one less thing to worry about and who can't use that in this hectic journey of parenting. I am so said to only have a couple years left with a Pedodontist, but what a blessing it was to have found Dr. Chen and Dr. Chen when we did.

Dr. Do and the staff were completely amazing! My daughter has had some pretty bad experiences at previous dentist offices but the hygentist here was so patient and sweet with her even whennshe began to get worked up. Dr. Do came in and acknowledged my daughter the whole time that she talking with me and was so thorough. They were even able to get xrays and do a full cleaning which has not been accomlished before at other places. 10000% recommend this office!

I love Dr. Do she takes her time with my boys and makes the child and the parent feel extra comfortable my boys are 7 and 5 and over the years have not found a suitable dentist that they felt comfortable with until now my boys get excited yes excited to go to the dentist because of Dr. Do and her team
