Tigran Khachatryan, DDS, is a highly educated and experienced general dentist at A Smiling Heart Dentistry in Bellevue, Washington. He delivers the best possible technical and aesthetic dentistry available using the latest technology, from beautiful teeth restorations to cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics.
Dr. Khachatryan earned his bachelors degree at the University of Washington in Seattle before obtaining his doctorate of dentistry at the University of Washingtons School of Dentistry. He then continued his education at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies in Nevada, where the countrys most talented dentists continue their education in high technology training. He studied with Dr. John Kois at the Kois Center in Seattle, Washington. To provide expert implant solutions to his patients, Dr. Khachatryan completed the Master Implant Program through the Global Institute for Dental Education in Los Angeles, California.
A strong believer in continuous learning and education, Dr. Khachatryan holds several certificates, including Advanced Implant Therapy, A-Z in Implant Dentistry, Esthetic Implant Therapy, Edentulous Implant Patient Certificate, Implant Master Program, and Ceramic Implant Provider. Her mother, a family physician, was passionate about her profession and that was transmitted to little Lorena. She followed in her mother's foot steps and got her DDS degree in 1999 from a prestigious University in Romania. But that didn't satisfy her thirst for knowledge so she furthered her education with a Master of Science in Dentistry from University of Washington.
Dr. Smith is a Washington native. She grew up on Mercer Island as the youngest of five siblings. Through her family she was introduced to dentistry at a very young age. She began working in her father's practice at the age of twelve and by the time she was 18 she was working as her sister's dental assistant. She graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelors in Biology in 2008. Shortly thereafter she moved across the country where she earned her Dental Medicine Doctorate in 2014 from the Medical University of South Carolina. Although she loved the time she spent in South Carolina she was ready to come home to Washington after graduation. Working as a temporary dentist in a variety of practices after graduation allowed her to gain experience with different types of offices and materials.
Prior to attending dental school she went on mission trips to Jamaica, Uganda, and Kenya. She also volunteered locally at the Union Gospel mission dental clinic. During dental school she was able to volunteer in the Give Kids a Smile Day, The Special Olympics dental booth, and at Our Lady of Mercy Dental Clinic. Since graduating she has been able to work with International Smile Power to provide the residents of tent city with much needed dental care. The experiences of providing dental care at home and abroad are extremely different, yet both have strengthened her passion for providing high-quality care under varied circumstances.
In 2014 she and her husband Mike were blessed with a beautiful baby girl named Emma and in 2016 they were blessed again with a handsome little boy named M.J. Though most of her free time is now spent with her children she also enjoys cooking, baking, hiking, swimming, and painting.

I never liked going to the dentist both as a child or an adult and after changing to Smiling Heart I am ready to book my next appointment. All of the staff is so kind and helpful and I appreciate all the attention that I got

I don't know where to start... It really is a beautiful place with excellent professionals. I felt cared for and contained. I don't speak English very well and all the staff have been very attentive and patient, you feel well looked after from the moment you enter until you leave. I arrived with very bad teeth, I had to have a root canal, an extraction and a deep cleaning, and today I can say that I smile with all my teeth! I no longer feel embarrassed about my teeth. And the most important of all is thanks to them I no longer fear the dentist, I am happy and eager to take care of my smile! Thanks to all your work is much more than remarkable. My Doctor's name is Lorena ( She is amazing) but don't be scared because who are you going to treat, because they are all really very good!

Doctors are great but they are not very clear about the charges. I was told i will be charged 600, but finally was charged close to 1400.

(Update and change to 4 stars) I called again and talked to Ana, she is much nicer and willing to solve the problem with me. I reconsidered, it was the issue with front-desk, but it is unfair to ignore all the good things the doctors and other staffs do in the past 10 years , Will see how it goes (Old post)Has been with them for more than 10 years. Saw them change office 2 times. Recently, I feel they are not care about the customers like before. I changed my insurance 1.5 year ago which support 3 teeth cleaning instead of 4(my previous insurance supported 4). In my experience, this kind of situation was handled pretty well. Because I don't know what treatment they will do so I expected to be notified before any treatment(including whether the insurance will cover, roughly how much will it be, etc). Couple weeks back, I got the 4th cleaning bill and my insurance refused to pay. I called them, the answer was "we knew some insurance support less than 4, but you still have to pay it all", "We have many customers we don't have time to track their insurance", "It is your responsibility to know your insurance", etc. So clearly, this means even if they know this is possible, they didn't want to check or gave me this info and ask me to check. And we also found an over charge in my wife's bill. Very disappointed. Time to find a new dentist.

As a licensed RDH of 25 years, hands down, Ana & Dr are in the top for most humble, empathetic, compassionate to humans: staff & patients alike, besides excelling in Dr's beautiful art of excellent dentistry. Patients are accepted & treated w utmost respect & care: regardless of any differences in cultures, religions, political or financial backgrounds- inc transgender patients. THEY LIVE BY THEIR NAME OF ALWAYS HAVING A SMILING HEART!!! They bent over backwards to deal w my calling out, 3 yrs ago, w a sweet & cherished newborn, while I was leaving an abusive ex. I felt horribly but they kept working w me. I felt so loved & cared for, like a family which is RARE in dentistry. Though I am 3 years late writing this, and no longer in WA, my appreciation & gratefulness for Dr & Ana will last my lifetime. Love & Blessings to you all! Kate Dahl RDH

We found smiling heart dentistry in November and we loved it there until my son contracted a cough and tried to cancel his appointment. I have never ever been yelled at by a dentist office for cancelling an appointment. I believe it was Bridgette who was raising her voice at my husband because " this is a 2 hour appointment!" The manner in which she spoke with my husband was VERY unprofessionally and unacceptable with very rude & unkind voice. I overheard my husband getting upset and raising his voice back at her telling her that "he didn't appreciate this kind of a attitude after having the kind of week he had been having with a house full of sick people" . I had him hand me his phone so I could understand what could be happening only to have this woman raise her voice over mine causing me to cancel this appointment and all future appointments. There was absolutely NO reason for her to speak to neither my husband or myself in this manner. This was a trained professional who was answering the phone for a group of Dentist who's "commitment" was "dedicated to taking care of each patient and treating them as if they are a part of their own family. Beyond physical smiles, we want to take care of each person as a whole." After hanging up I called back and asked to speak with the office manager. Ana came on the phone and confirmed she was the office manager and began debating with me about speaking with my son and..... I asked her if there's a cancellation fee at which time she said only if the patient was not sick. I said well he is sick but would they still like him to come in she said no. I thanked her and once again cancelled this appointment and all future appointments. In this time of all the different Covid outbreaks and how they tried to bully us into keeping our appointment I can't help but feel like this office is not understanding of the possibility of spreading this virus to themselves and other patients with a attitude showing they were more concerned with the empty 2 hour spot than the virus. Kind, attentive staff. They have a holistic approach to dentistry and are generally engaging with clients regarding findings. However, over time I've found the work itself can feel hit or miss. I've generally had a decent experience here but noticed some operations seem to take a while, and my wife is having a hard time getting a replacement completed.

This place is amazing, everyone is super nice! I'm a recent new patient here and did my general dental check-up, normal cleaning and deep cleaning with Kristine as my hygienist. She is absolutely amazing and I'm so grateful I could met her and have her take care my cleaning. I was super afraid of dental work before but Kristine just helped me overcome my fear! She carefully walked me through every steps and I didn't even feel a little pain during the deep cleaning process! I really appreciate her great job and highly recommend her if you are looking for a dental hygienist.

I haven't rated a dental office before, but Smiles is the best I've ever been to. The inside is modern, the staff is friendly, and they are efficient. Yes, getting your X-rays done is uncomfortable, but they would be uncomfortable anywhere. Yes, having sensitive teeth worked on is ... unpleasant, but it would be unpleasant anywhere. Still - if you're going to have that done, have it done at Smiles.

Very professional and knowledgeable dentists. I would say they are very careful to do their best. All the staff from A Smiling Heart Dentistry try to make your experience an enjoyable one. From the warm scented blankets, fresh flowers to take home, coffee, tea and lots of other extras, they go above and beyond any dentist I have ever been to. Its a very relaxing spa like atmosphere here. I had a few separate special situations which they were able to work around each time. Its definitely a 5+ dentist.
