I love being an orthodontist. It gives me the opportunity to meet wonderful people and have a lifelong impact on their lives. There is nothing more rewarding than working with patients and their families and seeing the changes we can make together.
I come from a dental family: My father and sister are orthodontists, and my brother is an endodontist.I received my Bachelor of Science in biology at Villanova University, where I competed on the Division I varsity tennis team. I undertook my dental and orthodontic training at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston.
I am committed to offering each patient the best treatment options, customized to the persons specific clinical and personal needs. I hold steadfast to high standards of clinical excellence, and have gained board certification in orthodontics.
My husband Eben and I love living in Durango. Hes fortunate in being able to work remotely as an editor for the Harvard Business Review. Together we enjoy playing tennis, hiking, travel, and adventuring with our amazing dog, an Irish Wolfhound named Rosie.
Dr. Daniella Phillis and our team are experienced professionals, and weve witnessed these incredible transformations for years. We find it deeply rewarding to give people individuals whove become our friends smiles that ensure their confident personalities shine!
Starting with the first, complimentary visit, we take time to learn what our patient or the parent, if were seeing a child expects from treatment. Following the exam, Dr. Phillis designs a treatment plan that addresses the persons clinical and personal needs.
But there are additional, though less visible, benefits to orthodontic treatment. When teeth are correctly positioned, its easier to keep them and the gums healthy and clean through good home oral hygiene practices. This reduces the likelihood of future dental or gum disease.
The process of aligning teeth also improves the bite. Teeth meet properly, which allows food to be thoroughly chewed, and there is lower stress on the neck and facial muscles, as well as the jaw joints.
As a team, Dr. Phillis and our staff are dedicated to maintaining a welcoming and professional environment where you are heard, safe, and treated with respect and compassion. We will always see and care for you as an individual, not another patient, and be attentive and responsive to you and your situation.

Horrible experience! When my appt was almost finished (after I had sat in the waiting room and had my exam) I was told to put on my mask. When I mentioned that I hadn't wore one and why was it necessary now when I'm about to leave, I was told "to make everyone feel comfortable" first of all.. IT'S NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE ANYONE FEEL COMFORTABLE!! SECOND... HOWB ABOUT MY COMFORT LEVEL??!! ..As I suffocate and have a panic attack!! And now I hear they have been charging people $20 each if they forget a mask at the time of visit!! I'm so glad I took my big wad of CASH somewhere else!! The plandemic is over! This place is rude and ignorant! Can't trust them.

The new staff have been super friendly and very courteous to my daughter's needs. My daughter is well informed of what they are doing with her teeth and how to really care for her teeth while she has braces. It's worth the hour drive to come every month.

As an over 60 year old, I went to Dr. Phillis for advice on a tooth that had turned and was annoying to my tongue. Dr. Phillis assessed my problem and offered solutions from a simple tooth polishing to braces. I chose the simple solution and Dr. Phillis solved my problem in one visit. Thanks for the smiles in the office too.
