J. Kyle House, D.D.S.received his D.D.S. degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and served as a General Dentist in the US Army. While stationed in Giessen, Germany, he was given the opportunity to treat children and discovered that pediatrics was clearly his favorite field. He attended his Pediatric Dental Residency at Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, Washington and the University of Washington. After leaving the Army, he spent five years as the Director of Pediatric Oral Medicine at Scott & White Hospital Systems in Temple, Texas. Dr. House completed his Pediatric Dental Board Certification in April 1996. In 1999, he moved to Oregon to open his private practice in Hood River, which has expanded to five clinics (three in Oregon and two in Washington).
Dr. House's main concern is advocacy and access to care for children. He has served on numerous local, state, regional and national organizations that work to improve children's access to dental care, and has testified on behalf of children on a national level, providing medical information to lawmakers. In addition, Dr. House is a Consultant to the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and has assisted in providing their Oral Clinical Exams since 2006.
Dr. House enjoys being an active part of the community and spending time with his wife, Jill, and his three daughters. His latest project is developing a vineyard and learning about winemaking and viniculture. He likes being outdoors and loves to cook, creating imaginative breakfasts, and like a true Texan can explain the critical differences between grilling and barbecue.
Dr. Renelle Conner is enthusiastic about providing excellent orthodontic care for children, teens, and adults. I love working with people and changing smiles. Changing a smile, builds confidence. Building confidence for a person, changes their life! My career as an Orthodontist allows for a beautiful melding of biology, chemistry, psychology and art, which I utilize to feed my passion for creating beautiful smiles in confident faces.
Dr. Conner grew up in a small town in Washington. She earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Eastern Washington University. After obtaining a bachelors degree she went on to excel in dental school, earning a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree, from the University of Washington. Following dental school, Dr. Conner received a Masters in Orthodontics from A.T. Still University- Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health.
I have been in Hood River area since 1988, and have been lucky enough to work with A Kidz Dental Zone since 2006. My Family and I have a strong community interest and love growing with Hood River as it changes. My favorite thing is being a parent, being active, and playing with my dogs. I love working with kids! I enjoy reaching out in the community and educating families on dental care, dental protection and nutrition for dental health. Working with kids on a daily basis either at work or outside of work is definitely rewarding. My favorite time of year is fall, especially in the gorge.
Hi! My Name is Alondra Gomez and Im the schedule coordinator at AKDZ since August 2014. Being part of AKDZ, I enjoy working with families and ensuring they have a positive visit. Outside of work, I enjoy going on adventures with my kids. We like to go on road trips, exploring the gorge and watching movies. Our favorite toothpaste is Sparkle Fun by Crest.
Hello, my name is Alicia. I also go by Ali, and I am the Insurance & Financial Coordinator for A Kidz Dental Zone in Hood River! I began my career in healthcare in 2002. I then transitioned to the dental field in 2015 before joining the team at AKDZ. I enjoy nature walks, cooking with my kids, and spending time with my family and friends.
Hello my name is Esmeralda I am the Scheduling Coordinator at A Kidz Dental Zone in Hood River since March of 2021. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, the outdoors, and baking at home. Hello, I am Sharla, the Practice Manager for A Kidz Dental Zone in The Dalles! My entire career has been in Health Care Marketing and Operations, having worked in hospitals, a rehab center, medical clinics, and in Assisted Living and Memory Care. Following my passion for healthcare, I earned a bachelors degree in Health Care Administration from Warner Pacific University and will begin pursuing an MBA in the Fall of 2022. I am thrilled to be part of the compassionate and committed AKDZ team, contributing to healthy and beautiful smiles in such a fun environment!

My name is Natalie, I have been a Dental Assistant since 2007 and LOVE IT!! I worked primarily with adults for some time, and have found my home working with kids at A KIDZ DENTAL ZONE. When I'm not busy having fun with my patients, I am busy having fun with my son Daniel. We enjoy, pizza, movies, swimming and sun! Native to the Columbia Gorge my son and I also enjoy hiking, playing in the river, and stand up paddle boarding. And on clear nights you can find us star gazing, our favorite constellations are The Big Dipper and Cassiopeia!

I am a mother of two beautiful kids. I love that I get to work with an amazing group of people and be able to see all the smiling faces coming through the door each and every day. The doctor and the staff were great !!! But having my daughters appointment at 2 as well as another kiddo and the other one gets called back and we're still waiting over 30 minutes later and no updates or communications to what's going on was disappointing

for over a year now my daughter has had her 3 bottom adult teeth in and she recently lost two of those three teeth September 2022. Her top two teeth have now in the last 6 months started to do the same thing..... I went to Kidz Dental the moment I noticed her bottom teeth having issues in August of 2021 after having several appointments in less than 6 months August 2021 to January 2022 they told me I was being an overprotective parent and to just let it go for a few months..... February 2022 we made yet another appointment because it was hurting and causing issues with eating. We waited 20 minutes past her appointment time. When I asked why we were waiting so long they advised me it would be another 15-20 minute wait and that they did not believe she really needed to be seen due to me being a hypochondriac parent. We then left and when I called to talk to the office manager I was sent to voicemail. February 2022 to June 2022, Everytime I called I was sent to voicemail with no return call. October 2022 my daughter and I went to her well child check and the Dr. stated her teeth need to be looked at and that I was not overreacting and that I should call Kidz Dental again to just schedule another appointment and start over.. I called today and was advised we were dismissed in February for missing our appointment time with a no call no show. I asked if they could recommend me to somewhere I was told no. Then when I asked if I could speak to the office manager I was hung up on.

I can only speak to my experience at The Dalles location. After being less than pleased with one of my step-children's care, we looked elsewhere. Our new dentist had to correct and catch things that Kids Dental Zone missed. I will say, our other kiddo saw another dentist at KDZ, and we had no complaints. So it depends on who you get I guess. But I'm not willing to play guessing games with my kids dental care. Also, billing is a joke. The kids had more work done elsewhere and we only saw a couple small bills after insurance. But KDZ over billed and then was defensive when questioned. There are better options in the Gorge.

Dr. House was very patient and kind at my son's appointment. He was very concerned about his comfort and was a pleasure to be around. He was thorough in his work and made sure to do quality work. We have enjoyed going to him for several years!

I wish there was a O rating and only comment. Very bad customer service , this is the second time my family experiences a bad customer service in the same place ( the dalles) . The lady at the desk was very rude, I was late for 3 minutes and she said that the dentist couldn't see my kids because of the 3 minutes being late, I waited 5 months for this cleaning appointment for my children and they did me bad once again. I'm sure me and my family aren't coming back to this place again. They need to hire better management

My children have gone to A Kidz Dental since they opened in The Dalles. In the last year or so they have gone down hill with their customer service. I've left several messages with no return call for 3 weeks now. No one answers when you do call and then clearly no call back. If they take forever to send my children's records to their new dentist, I will be even more disappointed. I strongly suggest finding a different dentist.

We love coming in to A Kidz Dental Zone in The Dalles. Natalie is our favorite human on earth. We've been coming for several years now and she always remembers details about my midget humans. We just adore her. Dr House is our regular dentist for cleanings and he just gets my kids that aren't neurotypical. He's fun with them, but also stern about their dental hygiene when he needs to be. We're perfectly happy here. Love it!

My kids had been going to Kidz Dental Zone since they were toddlers and it was only in Hood River. They are now 17, 15 and 13. Honestly I never really had any issues with KDZ and even suggested them to friends. But that stopped today. I called today to make appointments since they hadn't been in since Pre-Covid. I was told that all 3 of them have been removed from the clinic. I said I have no idea what you are talking about and the receptionist tells me that they were removed because they missed too many appointments. I said "how many have they missed?" She says " one missed 5, one missed 3 and one missed 2 appointments." What????? So over 14 years and my kids have missed 10 appointments between 3 kids, including one that got braces through KDZ.... Sure, ditch the one kid that missed 5 appointments that makes some sense but no you ditch 2 kids that have missed 3 and 2 appointments in 14 years. Seriously? 2 and 3 appointments??? 14 years??? No really, are you actually serious KDZ??? I didn't even bother to ask how many of those I called prior to reschedule but I think at least 7 or 8 of them. I seriously cannot think of an appointment I completely forgot about and didn't make without calling prior to. But hey this makes sense right, and it is a stellar business plan. Who needs long term customers. Really how many more years were my kids going to go there? Jokes on you KDZ both my younger kiddos still need braces! You should have checked their records before you dumped them! No idea what is going on at Kidz Dental Zone but I am beyond upset and disappointed. Just beware they apparently will drop you as a patient at any time. Heaven forbid there is bad weather or an emergency that keeps you from making a dentist appointment if you don't want to be dropped you better make that appointment! Just saying... Maybe just start with a dentist that actually cares about the kids, instead of just having a constant stream of little money makers.... Oh and they never called to even let me know there might have been an issue, cool right? Thanks KDZ really appreciate how you treat a long time customer that has literally spent thousands and thousands of dollars there. No worries, everyone is replaceable.

Today I got pink and red braces, everybody is super nice, and lots of fun to talk to as the braces get arranged. They're all fun even when its just a cleaning too! Really cool place to go to. I had Jennifer work on my teeth for most of the time, and she's amazing!

Was able to take all 3 of my daughters to the dentist at the same time (so helpful!). My middle daughter is extremely nervous about going to the dentist, to the point I had to have her put under to have her teeth cleaned and baby teeth pulled at our previous dentist's office. But the hygienist we worked with at this office was able to get so much work done on her teeth in one sitting, it was amazing! It was also my youngest daughter's first time at the dentist and she LOVED how much fun they made it and laughed every time the hygienist said she was going to tickle her teeth by polishing them. The dentist was also extremely gentle and kind. Wonderful, wonderful experience at the dentist for everyone!

Dr House and staff were amazing about seeing my 3-year-old daughter after hours when she suffered a mouth injury and gave me peace of mind and made her feel very comfortable. Highly recommend!

I used to like this clinic, but making children with dental problems wait 8 weeks for care is totally unacceptable. The corporate rules are ridiculous and far too rigid. The receptionists are always rude when they call, and they want everything done online, but their portal doesn't work!

Assistants and hygienist were were super friendly, nice, and professional. The office was spic and span, I was very impressed. They also let the children choose a movie to watch on the tv mounted on the ceiling while they get their work done. The dentist himself was very professional and straight to the point. We will return and will be bringing all of our three kids.

My 9 year old son had a Dental emergency and Dr. House and staff were AMAZING and made his anxiety not so bad. Much respect to them cause the trauma my son had to his mouth was painful. Looking forward to our other visits to fix the tooth issue. Ty so much

I was nervous about my son having his first dental appointment. I didn't know if he would freak out and cry like he does at the doctors. The staff were so nice and Max wasn't freaked out at all! Everything went smooth.
