After graduating from the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dentistry (MUSC) in 1996, Dr. McDonald practiced general dentistry in the U.S. Navy for four years. He returned to MUSC to complete his two-year residency training in pediatric dentistry.

After fulfilling his three-year naval obligation in Okinawa, Japan as a pediatric specialist, where he received the Thomas P. Carroll Top Doc award for clinical excellence, Dr. McDonald decided to open his own pediatric dental office in the Renton Highlands in September 2005. Currently, Dr. McDonald also volunteers his time working at the dental clinic of Odessa Brown Childrens Clinic (an affiliate clinic of Seattle Childrens Hospital) and is an affiliate faculty member of the University of Washington School of Dentistry.

Dr. McDonald is certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and maintains a Fellow status with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He retains current memberships in the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, and the Seattle-King County Dental Society.

He has served as past president of the Washington State Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (2014-15), on the executive board of the Washington Oral Health Foundation (2010-2015), past president of the Seattle Pediatric Dental Study Club (09), and has served as a state delegate for the Washington State Dental Association (08-10).

Dr. McDonald currently chairs and is a member of the King County ABCD (Access to Baby & Child Dentistry) Steering Committee, which is committed to accessing dental health care for underprivileged children. Dr. McDonald sits on the board of the Washington Oral Health Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the WSDA, and is the past president of the Washington State Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. McDonald is also very involved in the community, presenting lectures to moms groups, grade schools, and other dentists. Through his ABCD and WOHF commitments, he also gives oral health lectures to special interest groups. Hes been nominated by his peers to Seattle Metropolitan Magazines Top Dentist list (pediatric dentists) since 2009. Other accolades include selection into two prestigious dental organizations:the Pierre Fauchard Academy (2013) and the International College of Dentistry (2015).

Dr. McDonald and his wife have two teenage boys, Hayden and Kyan. Besides playing with their dogs, the McDonald family enjoys all sorts of athletic activities, music, and art. In fact, two of Dr. McDonalds paintings grace his office.

Understanding modern family relationships and parenting styles is crucial to the dynamics of pediatric dentistry. Dr. Escobar believes in order to achieve optimal results for children in the dental setting, a harmony between parenting styles, childrens needs, and dental expertise must be reached.

He is a graduate of the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. He practiced general dentistry for five years, most of those in Chicago, where he found his passion for serving the needs of the pediatric population. Then he attended the University of California, Los Angeles for his pediatric dental residency. Having recently married and with a young daughter, his search for the perfect place to raise a family brought him to West Seattle.

Dr. Escobar enjoys spending time with his wife Zahra and daughter Malaika at Alki Beach and exploring the multiple trails throughout the greater Seattle area. They enjoy hobbies such as endurance running, biking, playing soccer, and exploring local restaurants.

Dr. Goldberg likes to go by Dr. Kate. Drawn to pediatric dentistry by the opportunity to positively impact a childs oral health and confidence, Dr. Kate has her Masters in Public Health (MPH) and Masters of Science in Dentistry (MSD) from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in affiliation with Seattle Childrens Hospital.

While at the University of Washington, she received the Center for Excellence in Maternal and Child Health Traineeship Award and Washington State Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Foundation Resident Grant for her research on the Oral Health of Immigrant Children.

Prior to that, she attended Cornell University for her undergraduate degree in Biology and Society, the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, and the University of California in Los Angeles and San Francisco for General Practice Residency training.

Upon graduation, she received the Kramer Award of Excellence for scholarship, character, and service to humanity and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Predoctoral Award recognizing her as the graduating student with the most promise in the field.

Dr. Christine Do completed her dental degree in San Francisco, California at University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. She completed a two-year post-doctorate residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Southern California, where she trained at Childrens Hospital Orange County, Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, and Miller Childrens Hospital of Long Beach. She is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist.

I took my 2 year old in for her very first Dentist appointment and it went better than I ever expected! The reception staff were so friendly and our Dental Assistant and Dr. McDonald were so patient and sweet to her. It was a short, sweet 1st visit but nonetheless it was a great one! I can't recommend them enough.

Dr. McDonald has been amazing for my family. I love that he spends the time to show me things in my kids mouths. He always explains everything and is thorough. Sadly my son turned 18 and has aged out of this office. We will miss Dr. McDonald and A Kids Place Dentistry. Thank you for all you've done for Trevor.

Dr. McDonald and the staff are great and the results have been great. Dr. McDonald gives great post procedure instructions and has called to follow up the evening after the procedure both times.

The dental care treatment we receive from A Kids Place Dentistry is top-notch. I am so glad we moved to A Kids Place Dentistry for high-quality, pediatric dental care. I work in dentistry, and am very picky about who I choose to care for my family. The team at A Kids Place Dentistry, and specifically Dr. McDonald, are absolutely amazing. It is not easy to work with children. Kids tend to move / squirm, sometimes they get really scared, and they have small mouths. Dr. McDonald knows just how to care for a scared, squirmy kid. He and his care team are patient, they explain care in kid-friendly terms, and they are gentle. When my child needed a couple of fillings, Dr. McDonald called before and after the treatment visits to explain the process and make sure everything went well. What a kind and compassionate approach!

We've been coming here for 4 years after a friend recommended it. We love the team here. Friendly staff and greatly patient. The kids never complain about coming and they love the goody bags they get at the end and the balloon animals. The dentist is clear in communicating any issues and explaining procedures. We hope to be long time patients here.

We went to see Dr. McDonald after our lactation consultant diagnosed our baby with a posterior tongue tie that needed addressing. She had great tongue mobility so there was a chance that she didn't have to have the procedure done. After the consult, Dr. McDonald said that she didn't need the procedure and to proceed with body work first. Now, I would have never imagined to walk out of there without having the procedure! He was super honest and I would recommend him to every parent out there.

Dr McDonald and the entire staff were great! I brought my 4 year old in for a consult on his tongue tie. Everything was explained to me thoroughly and they were great with my son! When we got home he even wanted to play dentist because they left such a positive impression on him

My daughter had a bad experience with a previous dentist and was terrified to go to the dentist again. We chose Dr. McDonald based on the reviews of how good he is with anxious kiddos. We were blown away! His staff was so wonderful and caring and Dr. McDonald was beyond gentle with my daughter, continuing to check on her to see if she was ok. I loved how clean and professional the office was. It wasn't crowded with kids toys, etc. I cannot recommend this practice enough!

Dr. Macdonald is an incredible dentist! He takes the time with each child and is fantastic with them. It is a longer wait because he does this, but I don't mind in the slightest.
