From a very young age, I knew I wanted to be a healthcare professional. Dentistry allows me to utilize my artistic skills along with my academic skills. What I find so rewarding about dentistry is how multifaceted it is and how I can improve the overall quality of a persons life by educating them about their dental health. I especially love when a person is able to overcome their previous dental phobias by simply listening to how the fear originated and replacing that terrible memory with a pleasant dental experience. Its amazing that we can overcome fears at any age. Dentistry doesnt have to be scary anymore, and I try to make it as pleasant as possible!
I believe in lifelong learning. The Jesuit philosophy of education aims to shape and develop the entire person. Being that I attended two Jesuit Universities (Santa Clara and Creighton), that philosophy remains with me. Graduating dental school was literally just the beginning of a life dedicated to acquiring as much possible knowledge and information as I can to help my patients.
Although there is a requirement specific to each state mandating a certain number of continuing education hours, I far exceed these requirements each year. As a general dentist, I must be knowledgeable in ALL areas of dentistry. I choose to participate in so much continuing education because dentistry is constantly changing and I feel it is my personal responsibility to be exposed to all new materials and methods available to me. I believe in evidence-based dentistry, so even though I spend many of my weekends traveling for education, I do not incorporate anything into my office until I can stand behind it philosophically and clinically.
After researching the technology since I was in dental school, I am confident in and proud to use CEREC technology in my practice. That means we can provide a great service to our patients with the increased convenience of a crown on the same visit.
I am a strong believer in organized dentistry, and that it is through our national, state, and local chapters that we can all work together to improve patient access, quality care, and much needed education across the globe.
I have been involved in the Northern Nevada Dental Health Program since 2004. I donate many hours of my time and materials to children of families who do not have the economic means to provide their children with proper dental care. The program is wonderfully rewarding. The children are great and the parents are so appreciative. Most times it is the childs first dental visit, so I have the opportunity to make it fun! It also is a great reward to provide comprehensive and preventative care to a family and never have to consider whether they can afford it or not, because it is all donated. When possible, my husband and I have plans on joining a national organization that travels to underserved communities around the world, providing much needed dental care.
My husband, Dr. Nick Anastassatos, and I met in dental school and married in 2007. We have a son and a daughter who keep us busy. When Im not in the office, or with my children, I love reading, cooking new recipes, wine tasting, painting, and traveling.
All of our patients are unique and deserve to receive dental care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced dental team is committed to working with you and your family to create a comfortable, stress-free dental experience.
I was born and raised right here in Reno, Nevada, and I love calling Reno home! I have been married for 13 years to my amazing husband, Daryl, and we have a daughter, Amelia, and a son, Dawson. I am a certified Dental Assistant, graduating from the TMCC Dental Assistant program in 2004. After 5 years I transitioned to the administration side of dentistry, which is a better fit for me.
What I love most about dentistry is the ability to help people smile again! I enjoy interacting and connecting with the patients and creating lifelong relationships. I enjoy a simple life, being active, and spending time with family and friends. I am passionate about the relationships I keep, and aDentistry encourages a life outside the office in order to facilitate those. The doctors are family people, allowing team members to put their own family first. I truly enjoy working with such a great group of like-minded people who have become family. I love that our halls are filled with laughter on a daily basis! Life is more fun with A Dentistry!
I am a scheduling and treatment coordinator. I am definitely a people person and love to connect with patients. A patients experience begins and ends with me at the front desk and I strive to make it an extremely pleasant one from check in to check out.
I have a beautiful teenage daughter in high school and we live with my longtime boyfriend. I am originally from North Carolina and have been in the Reno/Sparks area since 2003. My family and I love trying new restaurants and just exploring all that the Reno/Sparks area has to offer. Its such a beautiful place to live the mountains are so close, there are lots of fantastic outdoor events, and we experience all 4 seasons.
I love the A Dentistry team. Its so rewarding to watch patients improve their smiles from cleanings to implants, it all happens here. We pride ourselves on being down to earth and genuinely helpful, nice and friendly. We sincerely care about our patients and will go above and beyond to keep their smiles healthy and beautiful. I love the feel of the office vibe and I know our patients do too.
I believe in educating patients about their oral health, instead of scolding or lecturing. Over the years I have formed bonds with many of my patients and it feels an honor to be recognized as a caregiver they trust.
My duties include comprehensive dental care for my patients, from scaling teeth to educating my patients on how to achieve and maintain overall health. Ive worked in the dental field for 37 years and enjoy helping people feel better by improving their health and smiles. I have learned so many things from my patients who have helped me to become a better person and health care provider. Our team makes going to work fabulous every day. The attitude of any office always starts at the top; so, cheers to Dr. Amaral and Dr Nick!
I am originally from Los Angeles and have lived in Washoe Valley since 1994. Its a wonderful place to live and work. My husband, Ron, and I have been married for 35 years. Our daughter, Katie, and her husband, Nick, have a daughter Maggie May and son Nicholas. We are fortunate to have my mother, Dorothy, and my mother-in-law, Ethel, residing with us. For over 15 years I have worked on the Ricky Woodring Memorial Fund in memory of our son who passed away in a car accident at the age of 17. Its been an honor to help students in our community as a tribute to our son.
As a Dental Hygienist, helping to create and maintain beautiful and healthy smiles is my professional passion. I look forward to meeting with each patient to hear about the progress in their journey as we work together to reach their goals. It is important to me that my patients are comfortable and feel they can voice any concerns they might have about their progress. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene and it has been exciting to continue to learn and share the advancements in dental care for over 30 years with my patients. I want to ensure that my patients know they are cared for while they are in my dental chair.
The interaction with so many amazing patients has also enriched my life. They are a wealth of information and experiences. On my off time, my husband and I enjoy exploring the beauty of Sierra Nevada.
At A Dentistry I am grateful to work with professionals committed to providing the most advanced, skilled and knowledgeable technology in dentistry. Together we can achieve enhanced dental health and give you a sparkling smile./p>
I enjoy meeting new and returning patients, and helping them achieve their goal of improving their smile. I am happy to be a part of the great dental care team of Drs. Amaral and Nick whose goal is to keep all visiting patients as comfortable as possible while constantly striving to deliver the best care.
I was born in South Korea and came to the USA in 1974. I moved to Reno in 1982 and throughout all these years Ive seen many wonderful changes and growth in the Reno-Sparks area. I like occasional walks around the beautiful Lake Tahoe trails. I love going to movies. I enjoy cooking no matter how hard it is when my family gets together, just watching them eat home cooking is very rewarding.
