General Dentist Dr. Chen received her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Northwestern University and has been practicing for 18 years. She is a warm, gentle and caring person who believes that everyone deserves healthy gums and an attractive smile starting from a very young age. She is licensed by the state of California to perform oral conscious sedation for both adults and children, as well as certified to perform Invisalign orthodontic treatment.
Periodontist, Implantologist Dr. Clark is our gum health and implant specialist. He received his doctorate at Case Western Reserve University and has been in full time practice for 31 years. He has his Periodontal Specialty Certification from UC San Francisco and has received advanced training in bone grafts and implant placement.
Endodontist Dr. Karpman is our root canal specialist. He received his doctorate degree from NYU College of Dentistry and has been practicing for 26 years. He completed his endodontic specialty training from the St. Luke-Roosevelt Medical Center.
Prosthodontist, Implantologist Dr. Givens specializes in bridges, dentures, implants and other prosthetics. He received his dental degree from the University of Michigan in 2006 and has been practicing for 9 years. After being trained as a prosthodontist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr. Givens served as an officer in the US Navy practicing prosthodontics.
Endodontist Dr. Michael K. Gavin graduated from University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry (UMN) in 1973. He joined the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) department through which he provided services to the Gallup Indian Hospital in Gallup, NM. During his general practice residency, Dr. Gavin treated Native Americans of the Navajo, Zuni and Hopi tribes. He practiced in Fargo, ND, for thirteen years before relocating to San Diego in 1990.
Oral Surgeon Dr. Paul began practicing oral surgery in 2009. After graduating at the top of his class from UCLA and obtaining his dental degree, he moved to Texas to attend medical school at UT Southwestern School of Medicine. After earning his medical degree, he went on to continue his education in anesthesia, general surgery, and oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Implantologist Dr. Friedman graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dentistry in 1982, and in 1984 received a qualification in Advanced Prosthodontics from the University of Southern California. In 1994, Dr. Friedman was invited to join the faculty of the Misch International Implant Institute. In 2005, Dr. John Suzuki, a faculty member of the Misch Institute and Associate Dean of Temple University, asked Dr. Friedman to join the faculty of Temple. Dr. Friedman continues to maintain positions at both institutions. He has worked and mentored in many private dental practices across the United States and has placed and/or restored more than 10,000 implants.
