Dr. Janak Patel was born in England and moved to the United States with his family when he was 10 years old. He spent his childhood mainly in Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology. After college, he was employed as a lab manager with an environmental testing company in Houston, Texas. Although he loved his job, he always had the ambition to become a dentist. This stemmed from a great experience he had at his first dental visit in England at the age of six. Dr. Patel attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School, which was ranked at that time as the Number 1 dental school in America by US News and World Report. He graduated with honors, Cum Laude. In addition, he earned distinguished awards for 'Outstanding Clinical Dentistry', was the only senior dental student to receive an award in 'Endodontics' (root canal therapy), and was one of 10 senior students selected by top faculty for a Pre-doctoral Implantology program.
After dental school, he completed an optional two year General Practice Residency & Hospital Dental Program at the University of North Carolina Dental School and the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill, which was considered one of the top programs in America. Dr. Patel served medically compromised patients in a hospital setting and served local community dental health clinics and veterans at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Durham and Fayetteville.
He started practicing in Salisbury in 1997 as a general dentist providing treatment to children and adult patients. He has been serving Salisbury and the surrounding townships for over 20 years. He enjoys all facets of dentistry including preventive oral care, periodontal therapy (gum treatment), tooth replacement such as crowns, bridges, dentures and dental implants, tooth colored restorations (fillings), endodontics (root canal therapy), cosmetic dentistry (veneers), extractions (oral surgery), and orthodontics with INVISALIGN.
Dr. Janak Patel have served as past President, Vice-President and Secretary of the Rowan County Dental Society. He has also volunteered his time and expertise at the Rowan County Community Health Clinic and the North Carolina Mission of Mercy (NCMOM) at Catawba College for the past two events.
He serves to make his patients feel better about themselves and their oral health by providing quality dentistry in a caring, compassionate and pain-free environment. Many of his patients consistently comment that he is gentle, conscientious and makes them feel at ease. He attempts his best to have his patients have a great experience at their dental visits.
Ashley has been a patient coordinator with Dr. Patel since 2015. She is one of the first people you will interact with. Prior to working in the dental field, she was in healthcare. She enjoys spending time with her husband, son, step son and family. In her spare time she enjoys arts and crafts, reading, and traveling. Her goals are to make you feel at home, and like family when you visit our practice.
Dana has been an insurance specialist with Dr. Patel since 2012. She has been in the dental field since graduating from RCCC as a Certified Dental Assistant in 1991. She has two sons, and two step-daughters. She enjoys spending time with her husband and family. In her spare time she loves taking family trips, and spending time outdoors. Her goal is to help you navigate the complex and sometime frustrating world of your dental insurance.
Crystal has been a dental assistant with Dr. Patel since 2008 . She is a Salisbury native, and she has been in the dental field for 18 years. She is meticulous in her work and is always eager to serve our patients and make sure they are comfortable. She is an advocate for animal rights, enjoys traveling and the arts. Her goal is to help patients achieve the smile they have always wanted.

Moved into area from out of state, I had a toothache. Dr. panel's office gave me an appointment that day. Staff was very friendly and Dr Patel explained everything he was doing. He even call me that evening to see if I was having any problems.

I've been getting serviced here for 5 years. I've gotten invisalign + veneers and I can promise you I get a compliment a day.

I've been going here for over a few months getting my teeth cleaned as well as getting them whitened. I have to say, I am more then pleased with the results. It's always a pleasure to know that your in good hands every time your seen. Thanks to Dr Patel and the wonderful staff at A Dental House

Seemed wonderful at first. My tooth still hurt after the fillings though. So I had an appointment at 2pm that week and the receptionist, Ashley I think, basically begged me to come in at 8am instead. I was hesitant because I live half an hour away. Told her that was cutting it close. Woke up that morning to a flood, so no, i'm not speeding there in a flood. That flood swept away and killed 5 people by the way. And I would have had a baby in the car. So I left a message right away to let them know. An entire week later, she finally called me back. She said she couldn't schedule me any more appointments because I cacelled at last minute. Then said "Well we all made it to work didn't we? I dont know why you couldn't get here. The flooding wasn't that bad." This isn't the first issue with her. I let it go the first time. She accidentally took my appointment off of the schedule, I had to wait 2 more weeks to be seen. On top of all that. Ever since they did the fillings, I've been having spasms and twitches on that side of my face and eye. Its been like 2 weeks of constant twitching. Probably because he shoved those needles so far up my gums it was damn near my eye socket. Don't waste your time.

Dr. Patel and his staff are wonderful and friendly. Their smiles are proof of the work and care they provide to give you a pleasant experience. Even with unpleasant procedures, he is reassuring, knowledgeable, and calming. They will give an explanation of what will be done and if you have or ask questions they will be answered. An old crown came off. I saved it, called Dr. Patel's office and was seen the same day. Dr. Patel was able to clean the old crown and replace it the same day. I was so fortunate and I am not sure any one else would have been so efficient.

So! Crown number 2 and a cavity all in the same tooth. I arrived promptly, and was seen on time. Greeted fabulously by Ms. Ashly and the DA. The procedure was lengthy because of fixing two issues simultaneously, and handled brilliantly. Dr. Patel even telephoned me while he was on his way home to check up on me: how cool is that? I just cannot wait until the next crown is installed! Maybe I should put one on every tooth! (not really).... Thanks Dr. Patel. Your expertise is very appreciated. Michael.

Dr. Patel is the BEST dentist I have ever been to. He and his staff are professional, kind, and extremely personable. My children are grown and moved, and Dr.Patel is still their favorite!

Dr. Patel is amazing!! He makes sure all the work he does is perfect. He cares about you not the money like most other dentists. Im so glad i switched to him because Salisbury Dentistry messed my teeth up, i didn't really know how bad until i saw picture's.

Dr. Patel and his staff are absolutely amazing. The staff here are so professional, caring and sweet. I love the safety measures that they take for the patients and the staff to make sure everyone is safe during this time. Dr. Patel is patient and he truly cares about his patients. Ms. Dana, Ms. Ashley, and Ms.Jodie are all awesome and always make sure I'm comfortable during my visit. Amazing service and amazing customer service. I love my Dentist office!
