Need root canal treatment? Millions of teeth are saved each year with root canal therapy. 64 Highland Dental, located in Worcester, MA, offers offers root canal therapy with a gentle touch. Here are the top five benefits of root canals.

The most common symptom that may indicate the need for root canal treatment is a toothache. The pain may affect your ability to enjoy a good night's sleep. Root canal treatment will alleviate your tooth pain and improve your well-being.

Root canals are nothing to be afraid of. People fear root canal treatments because they assume they are painful. Local anesthesia is very effective in blocking pain during a root canal procedure. Most patients report that the procedure itself is no more painful than having a dental filling placed.

In the past, diseased or injured teeth had to be removed. Today, they can usually be saved through root canal treatment. Without treatment, the tooth may have to be extracted. Saving your natural tooth is the best option.

Because a tooth that needs root canal treatment often is one that has extensive decay, a permanent crown often needs to be placed on the tooth to strengthen it and restore it to full function. A crown can improve your speech and help you chew better.

Root canal treatment has a high success rate. According to the American Association of Endodontists, endodontic treatments have a success rate of 99.3 percent. If you take good care of it, your restored tooth could last a lifetime.

The wisdom teeth are the third and final set of molars to come in. They will usually appear around someones late teens or early twenties. While there are some people whose wisdom teeth are perfectly healthy and wont cause issues for their smile, for most, wisdom teeth will need to be extracted. Common reasons a wisdom tooth may be removed include,

  • Wisdom teeth can also grow in at an awkward angle and affect the health of other neighboring teeth. In more serious cases, infection or damage to the bone can occur in those with impacted wisdom teeth.
  • Before your wisdom teeth are removed, we will administer a local anesthesia to numb the area. In some cases, sedation dentistry will also be used to help relax the patient during their procedure. To remove the wisdom teeth, we will open up the gums and remove the bone that covers the wisdom tooth. Then we will cut the tooth into pieces to make it easier to remove. If the wisdom teeth have fully erupted, then only a simple extraction is required (in which the teeth are pulled using forceps).

The recovery period for a wisdom tooth extraction is fairly fast, lasting only a couple of days. We prescribe painkillers to take as needed for discomfort or pain. You will also need to follow a soft-food diet. You can slowly reintroduce more solid foods to your diet as your mouth begins to heal. We will provide you with a list of dos and donts for after your wisdom tooth surgery.

They act like a wholesome family oriented dentist office. But reality they are sneaky and manipulative adding mysterious ghost charges to your account. When question they blame the billing system and say they can't change it. Pay attention to your bill you might have a mysterious charge on there!!

Dr Golnazarian was really good and made my wisdom teeth removal experience smooth. Two of my wisdom teeth were difficult but he did great. I didn't even realize when I was asleep, all I remember was he told me to scooch up a little and the next sec I was already out.

Disclaimer: I am a FORMER patient from 2014 to 2019. I had to change to a new dentist office because I moved to west coast in 2019. I had gone through several procedures (regular cleaning, filling, root canal, crown) at 64 highland dental during my time in Worcester. Most of the work were performed by Dr. Kasouha. The quality of their work passed the test of time. My current dentist said the previous work, especially the root canal and crown, were remarkable and well performed.

The office & staff are always friendly, and tentative to our needs. Easy scheduling, and the doctors/hygienists are top notch. I've never had a bad experience and never felt any pain during any of the procedures.

To be fair, the dental work done by this office is fine. The customer service I received was appalling. This office worked in conjunction with Worcester Periodontics (whose customer service was excellent) for my dental implants. I was measured for the implanted teeth. An appointment was made for me when the office received the teeth from the lab. My dentist was not satisfied with the teeth. He told me he was going to send them back to the lab to be remade. As I was leaving the office, I was speaking with Hector (who is always polite and personable), a lady behind the counter said, "she's not leaving here until she pays us something"! My account was paid in full, and nothing was done that day as my dentist said he was sending the teeth back to be remade. She was rude and I felt insulted by her comments. I went out of town for the 4th of July holiday. I received a call while on vacation saying the office had received the re-made teeth. I received a call asking me to come in before I had planned to return from vacation. It was explained to me that my dentist was in the process of leaving this office, so his hours were limited. I changed my travel plans and returned to Massachusetts early from my vacation. As I was on the way to my appointment (after I cut my vacation short), I received a call from the office saying the lab had sent the wrong teeth. I was livid!!!!!!! I came back from vacation early to be told they were cancelling the appointment. To be fair, my dentist negotiated a lower price with the lab on the teeth because of their mistake. Considering the rude, insulting comment from the lady (maybe she was the office manager?), their affiliation with a lab prone to making mistakes, and the personal inconvenience of them cancelling my appointment after persuading me to come in because the dentist was wrapping up his commitments to Highland Dental, I would not recommend them.
