Dr. Derek Dr. D Owens, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and was born and raised in Colorado. He graduated from Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colorado. Dr. D attended Georgetown University in Washington, DC, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Biology. After his four years at Georgetown, he attended The University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. D became interested in pediatric dentistry while working as a dental assistant in pediatric dental offices in the Lone Tree area. After dental school,Dr. D was selected as one of four dentists out of hundreds of applicants to complete a 2 year residency program at The Childrens Hospital of Michigan.
During residency, Dr. D gained specialized clinical, emergency, and hospital training to work with kids. In addition to employing the techniques he learned in residency, Dr. D loves using his sense of humor and gentle touch to make every visit fun for your child. In his free time, Dr. D enjoys playing ice hockey, skiing, snowboarding, golfing, and cooking. He also loves sports and is a huge fan of all Colorado Sports teams and the Georgetown Hoyas basketball team.
Dr. Craig Owens is an experienced board-certified pediatric dentist and was born and raised in Colorado. He graduated from Regis Jesuit High School, the University of Colorado at Boulder, and the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. He completed his advanced training in pediatric dentistry through the prestigious NYU-Lutheran Medical Center where he gained specialized skills and became proficient in treating both healthy and medically compromised infants, children, and adolescents. Dr. Craig provides sedation and hospital dentistry and is on staff at both the Childrens Hospital and Castle Rock Adventist Hospital. Dr. Craig is well known for teaching continuing education courses to other pediatric dentists, general dentists, and pediatricians.
His interest in working with children developed when Dr. Craig volunteered at the Childrens Hospital of Denver during his summers in high school. This interest was further developed when he worked as a pediatric dental assistant on his educational breaks throughout his undergraduate and postgraduate training. He grew up playing ice hockey and still plays and coaches in his spare time. Dr. Craig, his wife Marissa, and their son Brycen, live in Denver where they enjoy skiing, snowboarding, golfing, getting involved with various charitable organizations and are avid fans of all professional Denver sports teams.
Dr. Craig is an active member of multiple professional organizations including the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, the Metro Denver Dental Society, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

My son has been a patient at 5280 since his first tooth at 10 months old. Both of the doctors do a fantastic job explaining good dental hygiene to my son. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Good dental experiences early in life lead to better dental hygiene in the long run. I couldn't be happier with 5280. They are great!

I am very grateful that I found this place. It has been amazing experience for me as a Mom that suffers from bad anxiety, all staff has been amazing since the fist time I called, they got my son in right away and for my son I can say the same he has had an awesome experience he even gets excited to go in. Best peds dentist in town! The staff is always very friendly and accomodating especially with an over dramatic 2 year old Dr.Owens is wonderful and I plan on taking all 3 of my kids here until they kick us out!

FABULOUS, FUN, and EXTREMELY FANTASTIC staff!! Three of my children go here ages 5 to 3. The more we've come back I've seen ASTONISHLY FANOMINAL changes from my oldest, who at 1st put up a major fight to even get through the doors an had a terrible fear is now walking back to his cavities feeling rooms with a new light telling me he's got this. My 4 yr old enjoys coming in and my youngest always put on a great expression of excitement. They love the play area which helps ease the wait time but they enjoy receiving the rewards of a small toy. The boys really love & enjoy 2 of the gals here, Aspen & Jaye. Aspen is a light of joy an amazing very sweet receptionist, she makes the visits very comforting . Jaye is another light of joy, she's such a wonderful helping hand at every procedure with my boys very patient and polite keeps the room filled with relaxation and positivity great sens of humor. Dr.Owen is also a great dentist has an amazing amount of patients specially with my boys, makes me feel great to see them have smiles now and feel very comfortable. Thank you for all you do.

I highly recommend this place the front desk staff is so warm and friendly there's fun things for kids to do then there's the dentist and he's AWESOME they made my grandson so comfortable and are just so nice thank you to everyone for making it such a great experience

After years of seeing Dr. D we discovered he had been recommending unnecessary costly procedures and as loving parents didn't question. As soon as we did ask questions Dr. D was no longer available to finish the treatment he had started with one of our daughters.

There are things I don't like and it doesn't mean they are not professional, right? I give them 4 stars, still pretty good reviews right? U guys worked hard to earn ur license and took good care of my little son, so I think you deserve a better review. There are 2 things I don't like(I don't like doesn't mean they did it wrong, they were doing right): 1. I didn't know I cannot stay with my son when he was sleeping (it is actually okay, causes lots of other business does the same) 2.they didn't respond me at the first time (I called them 2 times, and they responded the second time) They can be busy, so.....
