Dr. Ashley Akins was raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She is the eldest of her siblings and is very family oriented. She received her bachelors degree from Oakwood University in Huntsville, Al and later received her Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University in Southern California.
Dr. Akins takes pride to ensure she addresses her patients needs and concerns as best as possible. She also focuses on producing quality work and strives to make each and every patient feel comfortable with her kind demeanor and gentle touch.
In the past decade there has been a dramatic interest in cosmetic dentistry. The experience I had at 5 star dental was fantastic. I had a previous experience with an old dentist here and the new dentist recommended better options for me. I feel much more confident moving forward here and I am comfortable with everyone who works here!

This was my first visit and the first thing I noticed, I was greeted by warm, smiling professional staff. The atmosphere made you feel like home and it was a sterile clean environment. Looking for to my next appointment.

Please don't go here for bridges. My friend has a huge gap between her bridge tooth and her gum line. I guess they are going to fix it but she told me she has been in for 2 soon to be 3 final imprints for Her bridge

Horrible customer service and terrible bridge work. I had to get 3 final impressions. I asked to speak to the owner and the office manager Claudia refused to even reach out to him.

My friend had a horrible experience at this place. She complained about having pain in her tooth after getting prepped for a bridge. The temporary crown came off within a week and then almost every other week after only for the permanent bridge to come in and not even fit properly. I wouldn't recommend this place for any real dental work

I went here for teeth cleaning and I must say one of the best I ever went to. Customer service was good to. I give them 4 stars only because they said they take my insurance and when I got to the office they said they didn't no longer take my insurance. But overall great job.

My experience Communication 5/5 They provide call and txt notification was very flexible with me. Notifications included txt from an person not just a system that gives you your appointment times. So your able to ask real questions and they will get back to you asap. Facility 5/5 Very clean and neat. Mask Customer service 5/5 Each person I spoke to was very nice and upfront, professional, they made me feel very comfortable, answered my questions and concerns. Flexibility payment options and scheduling. Dental work 5/5 The Dentist and the assistant were very careful and caring, they ensure your comfortable and pain free. I needed alot done and although we came across an issue with a extraction (tooth broke) I was never in any pain or discomfort. Dentist referred me to an oral surgeon to finish removing the tooth the same day. I would recommend 5 Star to anyone. (South Holland) Bottom line This Family establishment makes you feel like family and not just a means of income. It felt like the people there enjoy what they do and it shows in their work and business over all. My visit was Sept 2021.

They literally had me sit in the room for an hour and a half just to tell me they can't fix my tooth wasted my time even when I was offering to pay for the service which was $1800 they insisted on me using insurance. Who turns down cash these people are a joke

My experience with 5 Star dental has been anything but 5 stars. My younger brother is on the spectrum. He has never had an issue with a dentist before, and we always explain to the dentist that you have to explain to him what you are doing to calm his nerves. The hygienist didn't have the patience. We were charged but services not completely rendered. I was scheduled to have cavities filled and didn't expect to be there more than an hour. I was there for two hours and it was the most uncomfortable dental expense I've ever had. Despite instill a sense of discomfort in me, I scheduled a follow up appointment. The day of my appointment my mother was called for a transplant. My appointment was a 3:45. I called to reschedule at 10:30. I explained to the woman that I needed to reschedule and told my reason. She proceeded to read the script that it would be $100 to cancel or $50 to reschedule. I was flabbergasted and repeated. I have an emergency and this is life altering. She replied "I understand however it's an inconvenience to the hygienist. I can wave the few this time..." At this point, I'm flabbergasted and teetering on irate. It lacks decorum and customer service to continue to give a speech about the dentist being inconvenienced when I've explain what was going on. I was inconvenienced when I was uncomfortable with my mouth gaping open for two hours. Though this place is conveniently located, I will not return.

I was greeted right away and the young lady ask me if I was who I was as if they were expecting me at my scheduled time and it made me feel really welcomed. The staff treated me as if I had been a patient for a while and they were all sweet. The young lady who took me back took really good care of me she made me feel really comfortable and she explaid all the procedures to me for that day. The Dentist was also great and I look forward to being a permanent patient or a part of the 5 Star family.
