Robert D. Wood, II, DDS is a Nashville native and third-generation dentist. He is a proud graduate of two Nashville institutions: Tennessee State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree, and Meharry Medical College, where he completed his dental school training and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Dr. Wood has attained professional experience in multiple settings in public health, corporate dentistry, and private practice. He is excited to launch 4th Street Dental Studio in his new home city of Columbus. He has a passion for promoting preventative medicine and empowering patients with an understanding of the various aspects of their dental health.
Dr. Wood truly enjoys developing relationships with his patients and bringing them comfort while under his care from the routine to the most complex of cases. He also aims to bring comfort and dispel fear from those who are less than enthusiastic about a trip to the dentist. He feels one of the rewarding aspects of dentistry is turning a presumed negative experience into a positive one.
During his free time, Dr. Wood enjoys exploring Columbus with his wife and pups Derby and Oaks, spending time with family and friends, golfing, taking nature hikes, doing art projects, and binge-watching documentaries and sci-fi shows. He is a member of The Academy of General Dentistry, The American Dental Association, The Ohio Dental Association, Central Ohio Dental Society, and Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc.

I 110% recommend this place to everyone, if you are nervous or just have had previous bad experiences with a dentist, this place is for you. The vibe is wonderful and calm. It's very vibrant and full of life! And the staff is hands down amazing!!! Oh and it's kid friendly!! The BEST DENTIST IN CENTRAL COLUMBUS!!!!

Its not a regular dental office, its a COOL dental office. Dr. Wood's personality shines in each piece of art work, every small design detail, and be sure to peep the feet - he's always rocking the flyest kicks. The team makes you feel welcome and they take the time to talk you through every step to make you feel at ease. I'll be a patient there for life, and you should too :)

Dr. Woods is a really a great dentist every time I go there I have no anxiety I feel comfortable when I am there. Dr. Woods explains everything he does and why. My grandbaby and I just had an appt just last week Dr. Woods was very gentle with her cuz she has never been there. He is a good dentist and person.

My experience with dentists have been nothing less than traumatic! After careful research and some anxiety, I took the plunge! My experience on all ends, from email to sitting in the dental chair, have been a complete dream! The ladies behind the desk are incredible, top notch customer service! Dr. Woods has great patience, patient support & advocacy! I felt so comfortable from my very first interaction with Jodi via email right up to Dr. Woods completing my procedures. He is gentle, explains thoroughly, comforting, funny, down to earth and does amazing work!! I'm glad I chose to go to 4th Street Dental. I can't imagine going anywhere else! I 100% recommend!

I've been coming here for about 3 years now. It's always a pleasure coming in and knowing I'll be taken care of. They always answer my questions thoroughly and give me a good explanation of what's happening as they're doing it. Also a very clean facility and they have a tv above you to watch as you're in the chair!

Honestly best dentist I've ever gone to! Super cute office set up and I like that it doesn't feel like a regular dentist/medical office. The staff was super friendly and efficient. I waited less than a few minutes to be called back. My cleaning was also quick and easy, and Dr. Wood was great!

I feel lucky to have found Dr.Woods at 4th st Dental. I have had my fair share of bad experiences with dentist and have always been afraid of needles. Today while getting a cavity filled, both him and his assistant made feel safe and validated how I was feeling was normal. Safe to say I didn't feel a thing and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a dentist.

The most amazing Dentist and office!! Dr. Woods and his staff are the BEST. They speak to me as if I'm their equal and I love that! They are quick to answer any questions that I might have. Their bedside manner is unmatched in my opinion . I got drilling and fillings done today and I felt at ease and in good hands. They made sure I was nice and numb before going to work and checked on me constantly . I didn't feel rushed at all which also helped to put me at ease. They made sure no debris were left in my mouth afterwards which is a huge plus im my book . Let alone the decore is gorgeous and artsy.Please go here you won't regret it!!
