Jessica Swoboda, DDS, MSD Dr. Jessica Swoboda was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, then lived in the Seattle area for many years. She was the valedictorian of her high school and went on to attend the University of Washington. She graduated from UW with a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and continued on at the University of Washington School of Dentistry to receive her dental degree (Doctor of Dental Surgery- DDS).
While in dental school, Dr. Swoboda did research, took many elective courses and did an externship in Malmo, Sweden. She remained at the University of Washington for an additional 3 years to specialize in periodontics and complete research to get her Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) degree. Her research focused on the link between periodontitis (gum disease) and systemic diseases in older adults and was published in the Journal of Periodontology. She has presented her research findings in Seattle, Memphis, San Diego, Honolulu, Toronto and Switzerland. She has also received numerous awards and scholarships. Dr. Swoboda went through additional testing to become a board-certified periodontist and diplomat with the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Swoboda is currently an affiliate assistant professor at the University of Washington School of Dentistry and taught part-time with the dental students in the periodontics clinic for many years. She is active in many dental study clubs and volunteers her time on various boards and fundraisers. Dr. Swoboda exceeds the required hours of continuing education to stay abreast of the newest advances in periodontics. She also gives many lectures each year to dentists and dental students.
Dylan Sattler, DDS, MSD Dr. Dylan Sattler was born in Yakima, Washington where he was a three-sport athlete and the valedictorian of his high school class. Dr. Sattler then went on to Gonzaga University (Go Bulldogs!) where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He then attended the University of Washington School of Dentistry for his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. While there, he was one of eight yearly students in the the R.I.D.E. (Regional Initiatives in Dental Education) program, which is geared toward serving rural and underserved communities. After dental school, Dr. Sattler spent an additional three years at the University of Washington to obtain his Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) degree while specializing in periodontics and implant surgery. His research on implant placement to replace maxillary anterior (front) teeth was presented at the American Academy of Periodontology Conference and is pending publication.
Jade Dental Assistant Jade joined our team in November 2018, just one month after our practice opened! She loves being able to interact and help our patients have the best experience possible at our office. She also loves Dr. Swoboda and our team they make coming to work fun and enjoyable!
Jade graduated from Helena High School in 2017 as an honor roll student, and was voted Most Pleasant Disposition in high school. Her parents and younger brother live in Helena, and she is blessed to have such an amazing and supportive family. In her free time Jade enjoys hanging out with her cuddly cat, Liam, watching movies, going to the lake, traveling and spending time with loved ones.
Val Dental Assistant Val joined our team in early 2022 and has been working in dentistry for over 18 years. Having come from a commercial fishing family in Kodiak, AK, she was raised with a strong work ethic. Vals years of dental experience have given her many opportunities, including volunteering free dental work to those in need with the Alaska Mission of Mercy.
In 2019, Val and her husband moved to Montana, and they couldnt be happier! 406 Periodontics has been by far her favorite place to work due to the amazing patient care and the fun camaraderie. Vals husband is a surgical technologist at Bozeman Deaconess, and both she and her husband are very close to their two teenagers.
Kylee Sterilization Tech Kylee joined the 406 Periodontics team in February 2021, and she keeps our office clean and organized and makes sure everyone has what they need to take care of our patients. She loves working with such a welcoming team and is always happy to help!
Kylee currently lives with her family, their dog, Daisy, and their two cats, Luna and Myrtle. When she is not helping us prepare for oral surgeries, she enjoys fishing, running and hanging out with her friends and family.
As the first person our patients see, Heidi makes sure to make a good first impression and make a difference in each patients day. She makes our patients feel at ease and lets them know that we care. She appreciates our high standard of patient care, how we go above and beyond for patients and the way we exceed expectations. She feels privileged to be a part of an amazing team.
Heidi is originally from England and graduated from high school in Mauritius. She has lived in our area since 1988. She has a Golden Retriever named Luna and a cat named Hugs. Away from the office she enjoys traveling, reading, gardening and walking Luna. She is also a Bobcats fan.
