After receiving her degree she completed a year at a General Practice Residency at Palmetto Health Richland where she expanded her duties to include oral surgery, endodontics, implant dentistry and complex restorative procedures.
Dr. Patel is a member of the American Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, South Carolina Dental Association, and the South Carolina Academy of Implant Studies. She is the past president of Greater Columbia Dental Association, the past president of the Mid-Carolina Study Academy, Board member of the Central District of the South Carolina Dental Association and is involved in several dental study clubs around Columbia.

I have an unbelievable fear for going to the Dentist. So, my anxiety level is always at a 12. From the moment I walked in the door everyone was extremely nice and made me feel welcome. But what stood out the most was when Dr. Patel came out herself to talk to me and to put me at ease. That speaks volumes for the type of dentist she is but more importantly her character. If you are looking for a Dentist who is professional, knowledgeable, as well as empathetic and caring then this is the place for you. .

32 Dental with Dr Shavani Patel and her amazing staff is awesome!!!! They make you feel very comfortable, even if you are a scary person like I am. I would recommend anyone to go to her if you are afraid of dentists.

9/15/2022 Saw Courtney & Dr. Patel today. My blood pressure was up but slowly went down. I received a good report on my teeth & gums. I've been working hard to maintain my teeth & guns & I'm very grateful to Dr. Patel & her staff for their care, concern & patience with me. They are the best.

I had the pleasure of visiting Dr. Patel's office today due to a real dental emergency which consisted of a cracked tooth. The staff including Jordan and Sandra were courteous, engaging and very pleasant. The office is well kept and the synergy is AMAZING. I never thought that I would say this about a dental visit, I am looking forward to my follow up appointment. A big " Thank you" to Dr. Patel, who is knowledgeable, empathetic and very personable with oodles of bed-side manner!
