Dr. Angie Dunkling is from Shelburne, Vermont where she grew up with two brothers. Both of her parents are General Dentists. Dr. Dunkling attended The University of Vermont and received a Bachelors of Science in Biology, graduating from the Honors College. She knew that a career in Dentistry was right for her after shadowing both in general and oral surgery offices. Dr. Dunkling continued her education at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, earning her DMD degree. Following in both of her parents footsteps, she was accepted into a General Practice Residency program at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT, where she was one of four dental residents in the entire state of Vermont and was exposed to all aspects of general dentistry and private practice.
Upon successfully completing the GPR, Dr. Dunkling and her husband, Dr. Gordon Averill traveled Asia for two months together, exploring this part of the world. They returned from traveling abroad and chose Santa Monica, CA as their ideal location to practice and settle down as a family. Angie and Gordon both have close family ties in Southern California and were eager to start their own practice in Santa Monica.
Dr. Dunkling is a general and cosmetic dentist who enjoys restoring patients function and esthetics. She is invisalign certified and also sees children. Dr. Dunkling is committed to advanced continuing education, attending lectures throughout the US, focusing on restorative and cosmetic procedures. Dr. Dunkling is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and West LA Dental Society. She is dedicated to doing quality dentistry in a relationship based practice, focusing on individual needs of each patient. When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Dunkling enjoys spending time with her family and friends hiking, skiing, playing sports or traveling.

Dr. Angie has the softest, quickest numbing ever. COULD NOT FEEL ANYTHING. She had to do two tiny cavities in a single tooth. I was in and out in 17 minutes! Angie is unbelievably skilled, and a quick but exacting practitioner. So glad my beloved-for-20-years Dr. Kelson found such a skilled, dedicated husband and wife team and cheerful crew to take over his business. I would recommend 26th St. Dental to anyone, especially moms with kids and skittish older folks. I'm 73 and could not be more satisfied.

The practice of Dr. Averill and Dr. Dunkling is exceptional in every way. They do excellent work, giving detailed explanations, patiently answer all questions, it never feels rushed. Their hygienists, office staff and financial manager too are friendly and efficient in every way. The dentist my family and I went to for 25 years retired and did a lot of research to find the most qualified dentists to replace her and we are all so grateful for her choice.

I just switched to 26th Street Dental and am beyond happy to have found them through a friend! The office is really nice, clean, the staff is friendly and attentive, and Dr. Angie Dunkling is simply amazing. She is personable, took her time, and the work she did was great. She did an implant crown, a couple of teeth bondings for sensitivity and a corrective cosmetic bonding on my front tooth. My old dentist retired and I was with an office that just wasn't a match. This experience and dental work by far made me happy to have found a new office I can trust and feel good going to again.

26th Street Dental is 5 Star 21st Century dentistry. Prices are reasonable for the skilled expert care you will receive. Dr. Dunkling and Dr. Averill are experienced young professionals with up-to-date knowledge, latest technology. Cindy, my wonderful dental hygienist, is caring and thorough. The equipment is all new, even a slim mouth camera so the Doctor can show you on the monitor screen the problem with your tooth. You can see for yourself why you should have a procedure. Totally Awsome!!!

26th Dental really took great care of my daughter who was a bit nervous about getting a cavity filled. They took their time with her and were very patient and caring. It was a great experience. We're glad to have them as our dental providers.

Dr. Dunkling and Dr. Averill are the best dentists I've had in my longish life; always willing to take the time to discuss procedures and options, and extremely skilled. The staff is efficient and always pleasant. My hygienist Jackie has an amazing, painless and thorough technique. I'm also appreciative that that everyone is upbeat and fun to interact with. It's a great place with great people. Highly recommended.
