Dr. Yung Kim is a double board certified Periodontist and board certifiedProsthodontist, educated to treat many extremely complex disorders involving gum disease, tooth decay, and oral pathology. His focus is on full-mouth, complex, surgical, and reconstructive dentistry.He has extensive knowledge of implant dentistry and advanced surgical procedures, specializing in teeth in a day and All-on-Four implants. He is also Invisalign certified and experienced with CAD/CAM restorations and dentures.
Dr. Yung Kim is one of a few dental professionals in the U.S. who is both an American Board Certified Periodontist and an American Board Certified Prosthodontist.To achieve this dual certification, he underwent an additional five years of education after dental school. Resulting from his periodontal training, Dr. Kim is skilled in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of the supporting structures of the teeth. As a prosthodontist, he replaces damaged or missing teeth as well as hard and soft tissues of the mouth and face. The advanced expertise required to achieve double certification allows Dr. Kim to perform both surgical and restorative aspects of dentistry. As a result, our patients can look forward to an efficient, streamlined process as well as a more comfortable visit with fewer specialists.
What is a periodontist?A periodontist is trained in preventing and treating issues with the gums and underlying bone structure of the jaw. Periodontists are able to place dental implants, treat gingivitis and othergum diseases, perform bone and gum grafting, and gum recontouring procedures.
Dr. Kim received his Bachelor of Science from SUNY Stony Brook University and earned his Dental Degree from SUNY Stony Brook University, School of Dental Medicine. Continuing his education and training, Dr. Kim completed a general practice residency at Nassau University Medical Center. Following the residency, he attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated from the Periodontics and Prosthodontics Program, earning his Masters Degree in Dental Science.

Dr. Shannen Manlucu earned her Bachelors degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. After completing her undergraduateeducation, she then attended Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington D.C Shortly after receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, she continued her dental education and training at a general practice residency at NYU Langone- Brooklyn.
Lidia McGarry attended The New York City College of Technology where she obtained her AAS in Dental Hygiene. Raised in Brooklyn, but now a happy resident in Staten Island. Enjoys educating her patients and helping them improve their oral health through enthusiastic encouragement. Bubbly personality and contagious smile. She looks forward to help all her patients either continue in their good habits or help build them.
Ed is our resident Dental Lab Technician. He specializes in artfully manufacturing beautiful dentures and prosthesis. He has extensive knowledge in fabricating flippers, partials, complete dentures, implant supported dentures, including appliances such as night guards, e-appliance and retainers. He is also proficient in making one day or same day prosthetics.
Ed is a foreign trained dentist from the Philippines. He graduated from Centro Escolar University in Manila. He owned two dental offices and practiced dentistry in the Philippines until he moved to the United States. Using his dental knowledge and expertise, Ed was able to get a job as a dental consultant and lab technician in Queens. Later on he was employed by New Town Dental Laboratory in Pennsylvania as their all-around dental technician. He then became the manager and supervisor at Brother and Sister Dental Laboratory.
It was after this time that he decided to join the 212-Smiling team as our resident dental technician. He has now been with us for 8 years and counting. His over 20 years experience as a dental lab technician has allowed us at 212 Smiling to provide the best dental care possible for our patients.

The best dentist in the NYC metropolitan! Dr. Kim and his team are outstanding! He specializes in everything from general dentistry to periodontics, orthodontics, and oral surgery. Wonderful! I honestly thought of changing my Dentist office when I realized that someone else was now at this location,but once I found out who had taken over I was very pleased. The service is professional,informative and thorough. The same dentist some years ago had performed a minor surgery due to a extremely damaged tooth and a recent cleaning. I'm happy with the overall service here! Oh let's not forget the lovely,friendly,professional staff. .. 10/6/2022- I had an appointment today for a cleaning and, X-rays.Wonderful service! The young lady who did my cleaning was thorough, kind and professional! Dr. Kim truly understands people and service. He's also a great dentist!

I really enjoyed my first visit to Dr. Kim. The office staff is very kind and friendly. I didn't feel like it was all about the money like I have experience in the past. I felt at ease and like I was finally going to receive the dental care I need. That was very comforting and important to me. Thank you!

The young receptionist is rude, and was unable to respond to my urgent, EMERGENCY phone calls for an emergency procedure in a timely manner. I had to get my tooth pulled elsewhere because they are so short-staffed on the communications side. I need to work with a dentist who has more man power, in case there is an emergency. Good riddance.

Went again..6-15-22 5 stars..........The doctor and his team did an outstanding job on my denture. He and his staff were very personable and professional in addition to doing great work on my upper and lower denture. This organization is the best that did it and got away with it.
