Dr. Tefesehet Mesfin, the founder of 202 Dental Care, believes in providing a truly relaxing dental services focused on excellence and patient comfort. Its her aim to make you feel so relaxed it feels like sipping coffee with an old friend.
Dr. Mesfin has been practicing dentistry in Washington, D.C. for the last six years serving patients living and working in the Washington Metropolitan region. A two-time Ivy league graduate, Dr. Mesfin graduated from University of Pennsylvania in Biomedical Engineering. She then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Columbia University in New York City.
She continued her studies by completing a post-doctoral residency in general dentistry at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital in NYC. While working at the Hospital she focused her time on root canal treatments, oral surgery, bridges, and crowns. Dr. Mesfin is a strong believer in continuing education; she continually fortifies and develops her dentistry skills by completing extensive continuing education programs each year. She wants to stay on top of the latest leading-edge dental developments to offer patients complete, individualized dental care including cosmetic, restorative and surgical services.
Dr. Mesfin is proud to be a member of the American Dental Association. When not providing top-quality dental care to her valued patients or working pro bono to make a difference, Dr. Mesfin's multicultural interests extend to travel, photography, spinning, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Mesfin's vision of a dentistry based on kindness and comfort is underlined by her pro bono work locally and internationally in Ethiopia, Cambodia, Guatemala, and the Philippines. Her goal is to provide the less fortunate around the world with the dental care that they deserve - because everyone smiles in the same language!

Dr. Mesfin,DDS is awesome, hands down my best dental care experience ever. Her knowledge and bedside manner is excellent. She cares and is considerate of those who are in her care. I had a root canal procedure and I have extreme anxiety when it comes to the dentist. Painless and gentle, thank you Doc.

Always a great experience here! Every staff member is so friendly. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes during my appointments to be seen. Dr. Mesfin is so caring and personal, she remembers you beyond as just a patient, which you don't get often with other dentists. She explains everything to you, answers concerns, and welcomes questions. The atmosphere is very clean, calm, and welcoming. Love coming here and can't recommend it enough! They have mostly 5 stars for a reason!

My visit today was quite pleasant...I have a phobia of dentists and was already nervous as soon as I sat in the chair but the office has a warm calming atmosphere from the moment you step in the office and interact with the front receptionist, all the way to when the dental technician seats u in the dental chair and my dentist was phenomenal! I felt no pain, she was quite patient with me and explained everything that she was doing will working on my tooth....and she was done before I knew it!! Everyone was extremely courteous and professional and there was no long wait like when u go to most dentist office and your appointment is set for one time and u have to sit for 45mins in the waiting room before being called to the back. This was my first visit to their office but I can gladly say that I have found my permanent dentist office!

Was very easy to set up an appointment. Friendly staff. Was seen immediately. Membership plan keeps regular visit costs affordable/predictable. And it's very conveniently located. No downsides!

First time finding a dentist in the area, so I made an appointment about 3 weeks out and showed up for my appointment with no wait time. The staff were super friendly and fast, and the office was comfortable (with jazz and the Great British Bake Off playing for patients). Dr. Mesfin was extremely kind and efficient. They cleaned my retainer and gave me a free whitening sample. Best of all, there was no copay! Overall great experience.

Dental appointments can be daunting for everyone, especially me, so I am beyond happy with my experience at 202 Dental. The receptionist that helped me get checked in was super kind. The dental assistant that prepped me was sweet and helpful, Dr.Mesfin who happens to be so funny and a breath of fresh air did an amazing job. I felt comfy immediately. Rahel who polished my teeth was also kind.My mouth feels great. Overall my experience was so pleasant and I'm happy. I cant wait to return! (Who says that about the dentist right?!) lol. Thanks ladies!!!
