Dr. Ted Struhs grew up right here in the South Denver area. After high school, he went on to complete his biology degree at Colorado State University while also earning a minor in anatomy and neurobiology. His studies took him to Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, to study dentistry.
At dental school, he received numerous academic awards, earned research honors, and was given top leadership roles. He graduated summa cum laude, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2003. This academic record gave him the chance to remain at Virginia Commonwealth University, which is considered one of the top academic and clinical orthodontic residencies in the nation. In 2005, he received his certificate as a Specialist of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and a Masters Degree in Oral Biology.
Dr. Struhs returned to Colorado following his studies and sees patients in the same communities as the ones he grew up in. He is proud to treat his patients with the most comfortable and efficient treatment techniques available.
Today, Dr. Struhs continues to be part of numerous dental study clubs, involves himself with community and school educational programs, and provides his office with the leading benefits of todays evolving orthodontic profession.
As a true Colorado native, Dr. Struhs still spends much of his time skiing in the winter and enjoying the beautiful summers here in Colorado. His wife, Julie, also grew up here, and they are happy to be able to raise their three kids in their own beautiful hometown.
Our original office was founded in 2005 in Parker where Dr. Struhs and his team began treating members of the community for their orthodontic needs. Due to additional demand and with the goal of providing two convenient places to seek our assistance, the Castle Rock location was established in 2008.

Feedback is a must for 20mile orthodontics. My daughter and I are getting treatment with 20 mile orthodontics. We have been seeing this practice for our braces for the last 5 months. I had multiple consultation with mine to finally decide and chose Dr Struhs treatment plan. He was very kind and made sure he explained the plan to get me to the smile with confident I have always wanted. The staffs are nice, and very accommodating. Everyone always answer the questions I may have. Their play area for little kids is a plus since I have a little toddler. Definitely will recommend Dr Struhs and his team and will for sure be bringing my little one when the time comes and he needs to see orthodontist! Thank you 20 mile for building my confident to have a better smile

Very kind and professional. Treats patients with respect while also delivering care with compassion. All techs are kind and considerate especially with regards to my dental anxiety. I spent 6 months at 20 Mile Orthodontics completing treatment that I began out of town in 2019. He was able to finish my treatment plan in a reasonable time frame as well.
