these are the qualities Dr. Alesia Bergan embodies in her everyday life. Originally from Belarus, she took postgraduate studies in linguistics and became a language teacher. She speaks fluent Russian, Belorussian and German and is looking for opportunities to improve her Spanish. After moving to the United States in 2000, she dedicated her energy to embarking on a new career as a dentist. She graduated with the highest honors from one of the most prestigious dental schools in the country at the University of Maryland.
The gifts of patience and compassionate intuition help her patients feel comfortable in the dental chair, from children as young as 2 to anxious patients that have not been to the dentist in many years. Commitment to learning and curiosity about the ever-changing technology of the dental field inspire Dr. Bergan to continuously pursue educational opportunities.
Her practice is a pure functional dentistry practice with focus and attention to full body health. She has undergone specialized training in sleep apnea diagnosis and treatment, Botox, clear braces, laser treatments, airway dentistry and supplementation. She is dedicated to mastering the most advanced technologies and procedures in the dental arts in order to provide the highest quality care to her patients.
In her free time Dr. Bergan can often be found outdoors exploring the beautiful natural surroundings of Colorado with her 12-year-old daughter. She loves traveling and is running out of national parks to explore! Among her hobbies are photographing nature, yoga (she is a certified yoga instructor), meditation (Vedic and Vipassana trained), listening to podcasts, pottery, ecstatic dancing, participating in retreats, and enjoying live music. Laura has 20 years of clinical experience practicing in dentistry, 10 years working in pediatrics, and 6 years working in public health. Her love for community service was demonstrated through her volunteer work with Project Stretch, a non-profit organization that provides dental care to children in underserved populations. For eight years, Laura served as a board member and participated in several mission trips to Mexico, Georgia, and Ukraine.
Laura is a passionate educator of periodontal health and an avid proponent of airway wellness. She is always looking to increased her knowledge in holistic health through continuing education and exposure to new technology. Before relocating From Boston, Massachusetts to Boulder, Colorado in 2017, Laura completed her 200-hr yoga teacher training certification and attended a mindfulness and meditation retreat for healthcare practitioners at Zen Mountain Monastery. In 2018, she attended the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology symposium in Denver.
Laura has spent the last five years studying evidence-based, airway-focused principles. She holds credentials in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, Breathing Behavior Analysis, Trauma-Sensitive HeartMath, Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching, Herbalism, and Yoga.
In 2021, she opened Breathe Colorado, an airway-focused integrative wellness practice where she teaches clients how to improve their breathing to support their sleep, energy, emotions and athletic performance.
My name is Simone. I was born and raised in northern Germany. I moved to the USA in 2005 and graduated from Kaskasia college in Illinois from the dental assisting program with perfect gradesand am board certified.
The mantra of functional dentistry is a commitment to the health of the individual as a whole. I consider it my privilege to help others body, mind & spirit. I work hard to listen to my patients in order to understand the big picture with their overall health goals and well-being.
The approach I take is looking for a root cause of my patients dental problems and seeing the bigger picture of how oral disease affects the overall body and vice versa. I look at each patient as a whole and do our best to assess the well-being of the entire body as well as the mind. It is well known that various factors such as stress, diet, sleep quality, breathing patterns, energy levels, hormones, and life style choices can have a significant effect on oral health. Assessing and addressing them early on helps me treat my patients for long-term health and well-being.
For example, when someone comes in with a broken tooth, the first step is to repair the tooth and get my patient out of pain as soon as possible. The next step is to understand why the tooth broke to begin with: high risk of cavities? night time grinding? bite interferences? mineral deficiencies? Once we understand the cause, we have a better chance of preventing the problem from occurring again in the future.
This approach to oral health might initially take longer because we evaluate risk factors, discuss medical issues, talk about diet, nutritional deficiencies, and recommend supplements, measure oral pH, evaluate breathing and assess the risks of sleep apnea and mouth breathing, look at family history, assess inflammation orally and systemically, etc. Once we uncover and then address the underlying causes of oral dis-ease, we are able to come up with prevention strategies that not only help our patients avoid the need for future dental work but also improve the overall wellness and quality of life.
Mindful Dentistry is conveniently located on the Arapahoe Avenue near Twenty Ninth Street Mall across from Home Depot, on the first floor of the Park Place building. Our office is handicap accessible and we offer ample parking options. In addition to English, we speak Russian and German.

We have been seeing Dr Jerry for 15 years. We have always received quality care. Dr Jerry is gentle, thorough and up on the latest procedures. He never suggests care that is not needed and always provides the best for you. He and Anastasia make you feel like family. Truly the best dental care our family has ever received!

Dr Bergan truly cares about the entire health of her patients. She is extremely knowledgable, takes her time, and gives you incredible information. We have recently switched over our entire family, four year old included. We have had discussions about health I have never had with a dentist before: mouth breathing, gut health, mouth microbiome, sleep, etc. I am so thankful to have found Dr. Bergan, excited for our entire family to start a new chapter in a more holistic and well rounded approach to our mouth care!

I am a long-time patient of 14 Peaks Dentistry. I had switched to this dentist office after a bad experience with my previous dentist, and would never consider going anywhere else! Dr. Bergin is compassionate and caring, and I learn something from her with each visit. Anastasia is wonderful and does a great job. Over the years, she and I have chatted about our families, and she remembers stories about when my kids were little. I have always appreciated the customer service in this office, including the pleasant atmosphere. And, I can honestly say, I actually look forward to my dentist appointments!

Moving states and finding a new dentist can be very stressful. Dr. Bergan is caring and professional. I used to be nervous about visiting the dentist but ever since coming with Dr. Bergan, I can trust her and feel safe. I can't give enough positive praise for this office, Anastasia and Dr. Bergan. I'm a big baby when it comes to dental work, and they always go out of their way to make my experience as comfortable as possible. Very convenient, flexible, and affordable. I recommend them without reservation. I came back here, two years later, to add that after quite a bit of dental work at this office I continue to be completely impressed by them. If you are looking for a great dental office in the area, this one will not disappoint!

This was my first visit with Dr. Bergan and I can't say enough good things about the office and it's employees. I haven't been to a dentist in years and need a decent amount of work done on my teeth. They in no way made me feel uncomfortable or ashamed about the current state of my teeth. Very knowledgeable and Dr. Bergan suggested practices to help with my own personal care. I would definitely recommend!

So glad I found Dr. Bergen and Anastasia at 14 Peaks Dentistry. This is a very well run practice and I can tell that I'm in great hands under their care. They explain things thoroughly, so I have no hesitation in following any of their recommendations. They are also very conscientious of your comfort during procedures. My cleaning vas very comfortable, my mouth guard fits perfectly and even getting a filling done was a quick and painless experience! Love these ladies!
