Dr. James Bennas, Jr. is a 1977 graduate of Tufts University School of Dentistry. He also has a BS from the University of Massachusetts in 1973. He has been practicing at 1330 Congress St in Portland since 1977. His practice has developed a strong emphasis in prosthetic and reconstructive dentistry.
Dr. Ralph Yarn has been practicing with Dr. Bennas since 1984, providing a full scope of restorative and reconstructive dentistry including oral surgery, prosthetics, and intravenous anesthesia. In 1982, Dr. Yarn received his oral surgery degree following completion of a four year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency, which included advanced intravenous anesthesia training, at University Hospital, Jacksonville, FL. He is a 1978 graduate of Georgetown University School of Dentistry and completed his BS degree at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1974.
Dr. Joseph Mangone practiced in New York for 4 years before relocating to Portland to join 1330 Dental Associates in 1988. Dr. Mangone is a 1982 graduate of New York University College of Dentistry and a 1978 graduate of Muhlenberg College. He completed a two year general dentistry residency at Nassau County Medical Center in New York from 1982-1984. Included in this post-graduate program was advanced training in all phases of general dentistry, particularly endodontics, periodontics, prosthetics, and restorative dentistry. Dr. Mangone served as a member of the local dental societys ethics committee and as a member of the malpractice review committee while practicing in New York. He has been a team dentist for the Portland Pirates hockey team since their move to Portland in 1993.

Dr Lebel is a great dentist. During your visit he's always making sure your comfortable. He's very informative during procedures letting you know what to expect and what he's doing. He's also got a great team, they are all so nice! Looking for a new dentist, definitely give Dr. Lebel a call!

Had an awesome experience once again, pleasant staff. Dr. Hall was amazing. Very knowledgable and personable and did not even feel the novocaine injection which I usually hate. Very pleased with this place!

Overall I think this is a good dentist, but the front office is hard to communicate with. Rescheduling is very difficult. They do not have the ability to text you like other dentists. They put you on a cancellation list and will call you if they have an opening, but the caller ID comes up as unknown on your phone. The only way to reschedule with them is to pick up weeks worth of spam calls hoping it is them, while interrupting your work phone calls. The other option is to just not have your teeth cleaned. Outside of that they are fine. The dentist and hygenists are nice.

They're okay. Not good, not bad. As a dentist practice, they don't stand out - they get the job done. However, they're not very accommodating for scheduling, and that is mainly why they lose two stars. I scheduled an a regular cleaning at 1pm - 3 months in advance. The day before my appointment they tell me they have to cancel on me, and now I can either come in at 8am or 4pm. Ummmmm what's the point of scheduling an appointment in advance if you're just going to cancel it on me? Luckily I had the day off and could take the 8am, but if I didn't have the day off - then who knows when they could get me in! I tried to reschedule last week as I had a vet appointment on the same day, but they told me nothing was available until April - so I just kept my appointment, only for them to cancel it on me the day before!

People there were not kind or friendly. The dentist refused to keep gluing my bridge back in and told me I needed to get an implant. Got the implant, and it looks horrible. The size is so big and the color matching was awful. Anyone who sees the tooth automatically can tell it's fake. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

The day after Xmas I was eating licorice (not good) and felt something in my mouth and pulled out large piece of my front tooth. Of course it's a holiday week and we have lots going on and could not believe this happened. I was lucky enough to call here and they fit me in right away. And luckily it was a crown that could be put back on. I was completely stressed and extremely appreciative that they fit me in, fixed my tooth and were very nice as well. As much as I don't really like to go to the dentist I made an appointment for an exam and cleaning here. I feel lucky that I found them. Highly recommend.

I have seen Doctor Jeremy Plourde a few times, and I have to say that he is hands down the nicest dentist I have ever been seen by. I've been to a few dentists over the years who have chastised me for dental problems which made me feel almost as badly as the dental problem itself! He is very personable, professional and genuinely seems to enjoy his job which is comforting when someone is performing surgery on you! Thank you. I will continue coming back to this office for as long as it's plausible!

Absolutely one of the best Dental places in Maine. Doctor Daniel Fackrell , Doctor Lebel and Andrea are amazing , very proffesional people. I would highly recommend them to anyone! Great customer service ...You will be on good hand..They will take care of you 100% percent and follow up with you next day ...
