Welcome to Media Lima Dental Pediatric & Family Dentistry, where our patients' dental journeys begin at six months old. These first appointments will expose your child to our dental office and serve as a stepping stone to establishing their "dental home."
Dr. John Kwon is a pediatric specialist, caring for our youngest patients. Dr. David Sung and Dr. Travis Perry are our general dentists, caring for our teen, adult, and senior patients. Together, they combine their talents and expertise to make it easy for families in Media and surrounding neighborhoods to receive dental care in one location.

Giving your child the dental care and tools they need to have a healthy smile for a lifetime is necessary and begins early. Therefore, starting your son or daughter's dental journey at six months old or sooner is essential if their baby teeth have started to erupt.
At Media Lima Dental, you'll build an ongoing relationship with your pediatric dentist that allows for open discussions regarding all aspects of your child's oral health care in a comprehensive, family-oriented way. As a result, your child feels safe and comfortable while their dental care becomes routine and predictable.
Another aspect of exceptional pediatric dental care we strive to provide is education for parents, so your child is well-equipped to create effective dental care routines at home.
Media Lima Dental focuses on preventive care for children, starting with dental checkups using our state-of-the-art digital x-rays and routine teeth cleanings. In addition, Dr. John provides restorative dentistry and orthodontic services for kids:
- Preventive treatments like fluoride, silver diamine fluoride, and sealants
- White fillings, nerve therapy, extractions, and silver or white crowns
- Interceptive Orthodontics (Phase 1), which typically occurs between ages 7-10.
The goal of Phase 1 is to help facilitate and guide the eruption of permanent teeth into their proper space by correcting bite issues or to ensure enough room for permanent teeth eruption. This reduces the risk of overcrowding or impacted teeth. Phase I orthodontic treatment may include expanders, space maintainers, orthopedic appliances, etc.
In addition to providing excellent pediatric dentistry in our Media office, Dr. John also offers options for in-office sedation and hospital dentistry. This is ideal for children who are either anxious, have complex medical conditions, have special healthcare needs, or require extensive treatment.
