Our Team
James D. Ward, DMD
General Dentist
Dr.
James is from Las Vegas, Nevada and has enjoyed working in health care since 1998. He completed his undergraduate degree in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2001. He enjoyed providing diagnostic care in Hospitals and Clinics for 6
years when he was accepted to the UNLV School of Dental Medicine.
Upon completing his Degree in Dental Medicine in 2009, he was then commissioned as an Officer in the US Navy Dental Corps. His duty stations included Camp Pendleton, California where he completed an additional year of training in an Advanced Education in General Dentistry. He served in Sigonella, Italy where he deployed with the USNS Comfort providing humanitarian dental care to 11 nations in the Carribean, Central, and South America.
Finally, in 2016 his family emphatically chose Naval Air Station Oak Harbor as their final assignment. Dr. Ward purchased Anacortes Dental Care in October 2019, and is thrilled to provide care to the wonderful people of Anacortes and surrounding communities. He desires all who visit the clinic to have excellent oral health, form, and function.

Lynn
Registered Dental Assistant
Lynn
has lived in Snohomish County for the past 30 years, raising her son and daughter in the area.
She
received her dental training in Alaska and California, becoming a registered dental assistant in 1988. She brings an abundance of experience to the practice, with a passion for helping each patient have a pleasant dental experience.
In
her free time, Lynn loves to spend time with her family, including her three grandchildren, reading historical novels, and taking road trips around the state.
Kris
Dental Hygienist
has been a Registered Dental Hygienist going on 30 years. She joined Anacortes Dental Care in December 2019. Kris has both a Washington and Alaska Dental Hygiene License. In previous summers, she has worked in an office up in Ketchikan, Alaska. It has
made her career exciting to perform her duties as a Hygienist in different settings. What she enjoys the most about her career as a Dental Hygienist is all the wonderful patients she gets to meet, and providing quality preventative dental care and instruction
to each of them.
Some
of Kris’s favorite hobbies include: gardening, hiking, kayaking, and boating out in the San Juan Islands. She also loves to decorate and do interior decorating.
Kathy
Front Desk Manager
Kathy
is a third generation Skagit Valley resident, born and raised in Sedro-Woolley. She earned her LPN license in Alberta, Canada.
In
July of 2000, Kathy began her career as a dental front office manager and is committed to coordinating dental care for members of our community with compassion and trust.
Kathy
and her husband Tim day hike local hills and mountains. They have 8 grandchildren. Kathy enjoys gardening, knitting, sewing and snapping the odd photo.
