We are proud to provide the kind of modern, quality dental care you might not expect in a small town at a neighborhood practice. Our dentists in Lake Charles are family-oriented, precise, and compassionate. We pride ourselves in our high level of dental care, and that our patients can always trust in the quality of our services.

Preventive dentistry revolves around the concept that preventing major dental problems is the most essential aspect of your family dentistry. We have all the dental services in place to treat a dental emergency, but it’s easier, less complicated, and more cost-effective never to let things get to that point.

We are committed to you and your family’s oral health care needs with a patient-centric focus. Our dentistry services can benefit any member of your family, including regular dental exams and cleanings, cosmetic dentistry to enhance your smile, and restorative dental services to keep your oral foundation strong.

Preventive Dental Exams & Cleanings in Lake Charles

Most people don’t like going to the dentist, and some will put it off until they need to go because there is a problem. Keep in mind that dental pain is never normal, so putting off treatment will likely mean you’ll need more complex care the longer you wait. What started as a small spot of decay on your tooth suddenly becomes an unbearable toothache and a tooth that now needs a root canal.

Preventive dental care with biannual dental exams and teeth cleanings is the best way to keep your mouth healthy, so you can often avoid more invasive treatments. Teeth cleanings are the optimal the best way to prevent many dental emergencies. Those who are anxious about visiting the dentist can talk to us about sedation dentistry options to ensure you are relaxed and comfortable—regardless of the treatment you need.

General Dentistry to Maintain Overall Oral Health

When oral health treatment is needed, we provide the services your family needs at our Lake Charles, LA dental office. At Scott M. Hannaman, DDS, we believe it’s easier (and friendlier to your wallet) if you attack potential dental disasters right as they begin to emerge.

Don’t wait until tooth pain and infection send you in for dental care. General dentistry services we provide include:

Boost Your Smile With Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry combines art and beauty with the science of dentistry. Your cosmetic dentist in Lake Charles can take the angles, contours, and lines of your face to determine what the best look for your smile is.

Our cosmetic dental treatments include:

Convenient Same-Day Dental Crowns

By investing in advanced dental technology, your dentist in Lake Charles can pass on the benefits and savings directly to you. CEREC same-day dental crown technology allows us to fabricate a beautiful, natural-looking dental restoration in just one dental visit.

With same day dental crowns, patients near Lake Charles can save time from their schedule and not have to deal with the inconvenience of a temporary crown.

Restorative Dentistry for Damaged & Missing Teeth

Your teeth can handle a lot of pressure and stress, but they are not invincible. The wrong bite into something hard like a fruit pit or ice chip, and you could be surprised with a chipped or broken tooth.

Everyday disasters can strike at any time, but your restorative dentist in Lake Charles, LA is here to restore your precious smile back to its glory days. Our restorative dental services include:

We also provide emergency dental care in Lake Charles to treat unexpected dental emergencies. Is your tooth throbbing and in pain? Has it been fractured, knocked out, or otherwise impacted? Has your dental crown or filling become loose and fallen out?

We want to remind our Lake Charles patients that while some bodily pain—like cramps, bloating, or headaches—often go away on their own, dental pain works differently. Oral pain only happens when a dental health issue has been ongoing without treatment. Many people with gum disease do not know they have a gum infection until they notice bleeding or swollen gums, or tooth pain.

When it comes to oral pain, don’t try to tough it out. Even if it does go away or you down enough pain relievers to feel fine, the issue still needs to be addressed. If you have tooth decay, we can often identify and treat it during your dental check-up; by the time you come to see us with severe pain—you may need a root canal to try to save your tooth.

By practicing regular preventive dentistry, you can sidestep the headache and cost that untreated cavities, decay, infection, and other problems turn in to.

State-Of-The-Art Dental Implants

No matter how you lost your tooth, we urge you to restore it as soon as possible. Teeth are incredibly complex structures that all serve a function.

One missing tooth can lead to excessive pressure on other teeth when chewing and biting, and without a tooth root as an anchor, your jaw bone will start to recede. This causes several issues, including facial sagging, premature aging, teeth shifting, and possible further tooth loss.

Restoring your teeth through dental implants in Lake Charles is the most reliable method of preventing further dental problems. Your family dentists in Lake Charles, LA, Dr. Scott Hannaman, and Dr. Edward J. Hebert have extensive training in dental implant placement. They also have experience in preparatory bone grafting before the dental procedure and precise placement of the dental implants. They have both completed undergone extensive continuing education regarding permanent tooth replacement surgical procedures.

Dental implants are thin titanium posts that are anchored to your jaw bone to replace your old tooth root. This bond becomes the foundation for your new, natural-looking artificial tooth. Many patients love this popular tooth replacement option.

Our Lake Charles Dental Practice is Devoted to Restoring Smiles

Most of our team have been with our Lake Charles, LA dental practice for many years, and they greet many of our patients by name. In turn, our patients also appreciate how they see the same familiar faces year after year.

We also provide noise-canceling headphones, iPads, educational videos, and a smile design book to ensure you derive maximum value from the dentist visit.

We also want you to be comfortable when it comes to making decisions about recommended dental treatments. Dr. Hannaman continually seeks new opportunities to learn and to better his knowledge as a dentist, and he enjoys sharing this with his patients. The more our patients know about their oral health, the better they can make informed decisions about their oral health.
